This reminds me of the movie After Hours or Adventures in Babysitting. That's why I think it is a great Foo Fighters music video...some of the best FF videos were inspired by movies: "Everlong", "Learn to Fly" and "Walk". So what if it doesn't go with the song exactly right, it's a ridiculously funny video and just what we want from the Foo!

This video was a blast! I really enjoyed it, sure it "wasn't serious" but you know what, the Foo Fighters are great at utilizing silly videos for serious songs. Do we need to talk about "Learn to Fly". Anyone who hates on this video hates fun, and should probably get an attitude adjustment.

These same 11 filmmakers, THAT WON, were presented with a really small budget, a song of the new album, and VERY little time to make a video for a grammy winning band, that would be debuted on Fuse TV and seen on the internet by the entire world (talk about pressure). There is no contest for BEST VIDEO of these 11 that made it. You can have an opinion on which you personally think is the best, it just seems not all the posters fully understand. Understand now?

To sum up any confusion: You have to remember that all of these videos are WINNERS. RCA took a gamble on these 11 “chosen” and relatively unknown directors to make a great video for the band. You had to enter your reel to RCA and were contacted if you won.

I’m certain that these same haters have DECADES of experience in the film industry and have directed a wide variety of award-winning pieces, from very low to very large budgets, in addition to having worked with large casts and crew, have written multiple scripts, edited miles of footage, worked under severe pressure and narrow time factors. Clearly, the credentials of seasoned film industry veterans were the ones critiquing these videos, especially this one. Makes sense, right?

So what is the criteria of someone’s opinion as to why they feel that this video sucks? Opinions have to be backed up with facts, otherwise they’re just empty critiques. It is always much easier to destroy than it is to create. But then again, who am I to judge these judgers? For these same people to have such strong opinions on this video

When you take the time to analyze it, this video doesn’t conform to common music video clichés such as: visual alliteration to the lyrics, actors mouthing lyrics (one of the nightwatchmen does that for one word in this video, but clearly it wasn’t a premise/cornerstone in this video) making fun of elderly people, a band just playing the music- I’ve seen that all done COUNTLESS TIMES before

OHHH and that actress was HOT, personally I thought that was a very powerful moment when she touches his face and allows him to hide in her chest or box (hehe, I know that sounds perverted!). I thought the weaker points of the video were the last shot, it just wasn’t enough of an “ending” for me and the flashback, unless it’s VITAL to the plot, I don’t think it is necessary to do a recap of something you just seconds ago. With that said…

Hardly any of the Foo's videos do, lol. That's kind of their thing: no matter how serious the song, they like to use music videos to kick back and have fun. I'm not saying this video is a great example of it, but FF videos are often a little silly and pretty funny too. "Serious" FF videos are few and far between.  Off the top of my head, I can only think of All My Life, The Pretender, and Wheels.

Unlike the haters, I liked the video. there was a story, quirkiness and it didnt have lipsyncing like the other 10 videos had. Great job to the director of this video. Finally a different type of video that actually makes sense with the song

Geez! The zoom-in at the Earth at the beginnig is a complete RIP OFF of videocopilot's tutorial on Adobe After Effects! They didn't even bother on making their own! They just took the EXACT same video!

Videos all have something that came from a effects program otherwise there would never be special effects. When you get a rocket ship and go to the moon let special effects/production editors know so they can get real footage to make you feel better. they call it special effects aka fantasy for a reason buster

If any Foo songs on the new album deserve a music video, it's Bridge Burning or Walk. If someone can't make a decent video of either of those songs, than FF should take it upon themselves to make videos. They're pretty good at it.
