  • i did everything you said . yet it seems that it goes to a black screen at the end. any help?

  • when i create a motion background WITH buttons on it the bg animation gets a small letterbox frame alltho all resolutions are set correctly? the same videoclip shows correctly in a timeline and in a menu without any button... anyone?

  • i have a problem with encore. On my other PC i had multiple dvd menues to choose from, and bottons and titles and all that. Now i´m using a mac and all those options are gone. Does it mean i have to create mu menue background, bottons, titles and all that stuff?

  • How do you get the buttons?

  • great video! thanks so much, After Effects, Encore seem so difficult to use, but with your help I'm going to create a cool looking dvd of my own! :) Thanks again!

  • @kosmita86 You are welcome :)

  • great tutorial but when I check it in preview the animation plays then the screen goes black then shows main menu. Not sure why?

  • @kamenwaticlients that is normal to see when previewing in Encore. A test DVD Folder played back with a DVD player on the computer will confirm that the black that happens in encore is not there on a burned disc.

  • Nice tutorial man! helped alot!

Howd you record with the mac?

  • @Mikhanator I recorded with Quicktime X, the player now has a screen recording function. Pretty Cool! You need Snow Leopard and the updates for it though. :)

  • @aJBprods Thanks man!

  • hi

    thank for your tutorial,

    it is very usefull,

but i have something problem, which is after created the AE file from EN, the screen size of AE is run away (mean different with the EN), I have no idea about it, do u know why will be like that?

you response is very useful fo me. Thanks

  • @ahyaw83 AE isnt able to change the settings when you send it over to AE from EN. You can manually change it after it's been sent, but I doubt that's what you have done.

Have you tried to compare the frame properties of the Menu and then manually set them the same in the AE comp?

Ctl+K or Cmd+K will get you into the Comp settings.

  • Oooh, just what I was looking for. Nicely done and well presented!

  • You are talking to yourself, I don't understand what you are doing, and why you are doing the steps you are doing. It is very unclear. You say to go here and there with no reasoning (sorry, no clear reasoning). Don't assume I am yourself dude.

  • @mfregeau2 If you have a question, I'd be happy to answer it. If you don't understand a particular section in the video I am more than happy to give you a written answer.

  • hey but how did u make the menu in ENCORE, i mean cant figure out, i did mi animation menu in after effects before tryng with encore, now u say u have to use the function create an after effects comp. but, how i make the menu at the firt point in ENCORE? i did it in AE but not from encore so how does this function or maybe u have another video where u explain this it would be very helpfull thanx in advance...

  • Hi there, I have a problem with the transition from the first played Timeline to the Menu. Your transition in preview goes pretty smooth, while mine (both in preview and when burned) shows a black screen for about a second, and then shows the menu. How can I fix this? I've searched everywhere! Thanks in advance...

  • @evonise88 can you see if the 1st video used has a bit of a black bit at the end? or that the start of the next one (BG menu) has black bit at the start? I usually only leave about 5 frames at the end or head of the connecting videos so the gaps is not really notices. You may want to make is tighter than that. - JB Let me know.

  • I am looking for help please, i crated an animation for my menu as shown in this video, but the animtion and menu are not seamless as the menu is slightly smaller than the menu.. it also has not kept is high resoloution.. any ideas ? thanks

  • @robblac What happened in the process that may have mXe the frame dimensions or pixel aspect ratio not the same? The animation must be made from the exact menu used in encore. Using the encore function to create an after effects comp from the menu is the safest way to ensure it is a match. If u did do it this way have you tried to export a DVD iso file and test a final looking disc? The issue u see may inky be seen in preview and not in a finished DVD. ;-)

  • @aJBprods thanks for your reply, yes i did use the"create an after effects comp" feature, i have not as yet output to dvd, i will, then i willlet you know if it was just the preview..thanks again

rob..ps i meant to say the animation was smaller than the menu.

  • wow, this tutorial didn't help me at all. how do i start from scratch?

  • @sundbeck Check out tv.adobe.com for introduction to encore ;)

    - jon

  • mmmm ur intro jumped in size when it switched to the menu...not acceptable. and how are we supposed to make actual MOTION menus that play during the MENU

  • those continuous pop-up keyboard notifications are annoying, great tut tho!

  • great tut iim subscribing

  • @tito533 great. I have another one coming soon. Part 3! - JB

  • This method is also available in Production Premium cs3!!! ;)

  • can it be created by after effects cs3?

  • NICE!

  • Great to hear. There are more coming so stay tuned.
