  • thats how i plow my driveway

  • Superb! That is awsome! When YOU work on the railroad, YOU really work on the railroad. That must feel sooooo good when you tell the bride, "I'll be outside working on the railroad honey".

  • Go! Plow Goooo!!!!!

  • I doubt my No.27 (my personal favourite of my large collection of HO scale tank engines on my layout) would cope well with that.

  • Do you live in PA?

  • yes, how did you guess?

  • trainman24- I live in Tobyhanna Pa I have the same snow plow as you and I have 2 Erie Lackawanna, 1 Lehigh valley and 1 Chicago north western. All are RS-3s.Also I have a erie mikado. I know you live in Pa because of the snow plow and the hopper! What county do you live in??

  • Lebanon County

  • trainman24 -I live in Monroe county. Do you have your track lifted up from the ground? I am building mine 5in up off the ground. Do you have any tips??

  • This is a link to a ton of photos. You may like the 2006 thru 2010 construction albums which shows a step by step progress of building the CQRR.

  • trainman24-Thank you!

  • nice!!!

  • how di u keep ice from forming on the rails i had a big prob with that,so lost power alot

  • @kurandatrain I run the train on battery power. The hopper car behind the GP40 contains Batteries,, Radio Reciever, and sound system. The Phoenix sound system can be programmed for other loco sounds thru cable connection to USB port on a computer. You will see same hopper car behind steam locos and other diesels on my other videos. There is even a 2 bay hopper for smaller locos.

  • I didnt know these tracks were safe to run in this environment i need to find my G scale model. Right now i got my HO scale running. My grandma has the next scale up from the G scale i forgot the name of the scale that comes next.

  • Awesome video, keep up the good work!

  • wow pretty amazing

  • very good maybe add a loco or 2 but good you should look for a rotary that might work better

  • try 4 engins next time

    :

  • That is pretty good, although most companies would have placed about 3 units minimum too get the horsepower too push the white stuff out of the way.I'm surprised you got as much done as you did.Running back and foth and getting a run at it, very cool.

  • beautiful train, makes me wish i had kept mine from my childhood.

  • Awesome sounding loco you've got there. This just makes me want to get my G scale trains running that much sooner than planned. BTW, I found a Russell snow plow online that would work perfect in this scenario. If you want the web address for the place that has them let me know.

  • Sure, always looking for new items

  • lol very nice and funny

  • wow why does every one always ask about it and the weather, DUH ITS WEATHER PROOF! oh yeah i just go remove 300ft of bolted down track and all of my 10,000 sceinery for a slight drizzle...also i remove the rest of the $25,000 layout because i dont want the soil to get wet............................................i mean srsly!

  • Nice plow

  • One heck of a sound system in that thing. It ROARS!

  • wow nice model train !!!

  • How about charging into the snow with 2 locomotives?

But I think that considering that that locomotive is so small it's actually doing very well.

  • Here's MY experience (trying!) to plow hard (ice-coated) snow with the Aristo plow & an Accuraft live-steam Shay. (I needed working scale sanders!) ;) Tom

  • Yes, I have seen your vid, very nice. Anyone reading this should check your vids out. I have two live steam Mikado but don't know if they would plow snow. hard to keep butane fuel flowing in cold weather.

  • Rails are made from Stainless Steel, ties are made from UV resistant plastic.

  • hahaha That is so cool!

  • also would be cool to have like small rocks, sand, or "lumber" and have it haul it around the hwhole property. i have 7 acres so that would be cool (wooded)

  • if u have more then 1 engine, i would use the rest too.lol

  • Awesome!

  • That's pretty cool!

  • You just have to love trains & snow, great job

  • Hi

I totally understand this one, I had a total of 8/10 inches earlier in the week.. I made my first pass at 4 inches and it took two aristo craft alcos to make it through the stuff. Late it took 2 hours with an A-B-A set of the alcos to finish clearing the 8 to 10 inches! the snow was about an inch above the trains, a very slow process of foward about a foot stop reverse and go hit it again!

    But wow what fun!!!!

    Great Video thanks again!

    Best Wishes

    Richie

  • A+ for effort!!!

  • haha i love it love plow action!

  • Great stuff, keep it up.

  • nice, ive been getting around to posting some model rr vids, and some actual train vids if ur interested.

  • get those vids posted !
