I know that corrosion resistant paint is used on the aircraft but, in sitiuations like this you guys must have to spray aircraft down alot with fresh water.
These waves are big, but nothing like we experienced on the Uss America in 1990 when our Captain decided to have us sail out of Norfolk Va right after hurricane Hugo had just passed by. We had waves rolling over the bow almost to the waist. when we came back to port all of the bow catwalks and life rafts were gone. Ripped off by the waves. Major damage was done to the ship.

The carrier's flight deck is approximately 60 feet above the ship's normal water line.
