@GuineaKidz depends on what ype. Feeders or pets. Feeders are simple to breed but if your breeding rats for pets then it gets really complicated. Either way rats are expensive to breed no matter which type you are breeding. (unless your planning on selling feeders which you can make a VERY small profit on if you do stuff right)
they said they couldn't order it they just have the normal block food for rats the mazuri but they won't order anything for me they said they won't order anything for me. so i have to order off the internet.
I have been trying to find the mazuri 6f in my city but i can only find it online to order it so i will have to do that next month order 2 big bags of it this month and all the other stuff i buy for the rats. i probably will only buy one bag of the stuff sense i don't go threw alot.

What do you feed you're rats. I feed a mixture of rat pellets/cat food/lamb rice dog food/sunflower seed's. I also started feeding some table scraps that they love. i have been getting 12 and 15 babie's out of my female rats. i just had 4 females drop two days from each other 3 first time moms had 9 to 10 babie's and my good mother had about 13 babie's. so i think you're setup will take off and you probably won't know what to do with them all. but it does make money whn you sell the extra's.
i only have 2 boa constrictor's one that eats 1 large rat every week or 2 mediums a week. and i have a boa that eat's 1 medium rat my male is 7 foot super hypo jungle boa and my female is 4 foot pastel 65% het for salmon. I wish i had you're black faced rex rat i have been searching for a rat like that but i finally found it though and i have him breeding with two females that already dropped babie's.
Yeah i think you're colony is going to take off but i would watch thoughs tubs because two of my rats can chew the tubs i have. If you breed the rex rat that you had out in the first beginning of the video you will also get some hairless down the road from a normal girl. I have a black rex dumbo he is all black with curly hair and dumbo air's i got three rex rat babies from him. i started to breed 4 months ago and i have over 95 rat's i sold 16 rats off so i have less now. i still have 79 rats
hey, got a question for you,.. My bp in the next couple months will be big enough to start eating small rats. I only have one snake, but would like to start breeding rats for food. How often can rats breed? I want to be sure Im not breeding too many to use. Im kind of thinking I will need to keep my male and female separate when I dont want them to breed...Thoughts??
@TigOlBitties1985 Females go into heat like every four or five days. After two heats they're usually prego. They carry there babies for 21-23 days and have litters of about 10-12. At 3-4 weeks there ready to wean from there mom. At about 4-6 weeks is when they're at the small rat size. You can freeze them at this point. So if you put the mom rat back in with the male right away you'll have a litter about once every 2 months give or take. With one male and female you'll be ok.

@TigOlBitties1985 you can make some cages out of tubs like i did or you can buy some cheap cages at petco. witch ever way you end up doing it just make sure its set up so the rats cant go to the bathroom on there food. otherwise it can make your snake sick. if you buy cages you can make little food hoppers out of 1/2 inch hardware cloth.
Hey man that's rad i like the hair less guy so both my rats gave birth it Kool bit the baby's are so loud amd they grow fast one litter was 5 rats and the other one was 12 it's waird the 5 rats are almost bigger then the 12 and the 12 are 3 days older lol but sweet video keep it up
1 male and 5 females keep my savannah monitor and 3 snakes pretty much fed everynow and then i have to use back up because my savy eats 3 smalls every 2-3 days! but yea they need all the air they can get and heres a tip... dont use alot of bedding or the babies will go under it and not get to eat... i only use about an inch and a half of bedding

it is a gene from two rex rats that is where the hairless comes from if you breed two rex rats you will get hairless rats.
