get a really good straightener, it may be a little pricey but its worth it in the end. I personally dont like conair, they always die on me after a couple months

personally that happens a lot to me as well.

You can take pictures of all angles and really explain what you want."i want this length and see how long this is and all the layers are razored and see the fridge and notice this" try being really anal about it and very detail and touch your hair to show the exact length and area you want cut.

Plus going to a really good salon helps too, not those $10 salons, but the ones that cost a little extra but know the rocker look!You gotta spend a little~

Most stylists have no idea about jrock hairstyles but by giving them pictures to work with, your more likely to get what it is your after.

I did that the past few times i got my hair cut; i make collages of the different aspects i want. eg this time i have Waka (Danger Gang)'s fringe, Ruki(gazette)/Miku(an cafe) length/layers and other random pieces i added in myself ^^

applying heat always damages your hair sadly

but if you put crap in it and then straighten it, thats worse

i condition and deep condition my hair (^^;)plus trimming it every 4-6 weeks keeps it healthy~~

layering your hair gives it different levels, so its not just one awkward level of hair.

there are different types of layers though so find one that you like.

personally i like layered hair better because its easier to style with.

it doesnt really thin your hair because its just basically a blade dragging downwards through your hair. (it doesnt hurt unless they yank your hair to cut down)

to thin your hair you need thinning scissors they have at the salons.

i bleached my hair (boo black hair) ..4 times?? and then put brown on top of it~

i have thick hair but get it thinned out all the time...so try to do that...it will be lighter and hold up more~~

i alreay know that with short hair *sigh* it got butchered last i went to get my hair cut (it was really long...this is result of two months laters), but i still get it trimmed after a couple months to keep it healthy though (^^;)

there is no product in my hair when straighten, shampoo/condition/air dry and thats its~

i think that short hair doesn't really suit you, you should let it grow (just my opinion) btw, i'm sure that you know that straightening with product in your hair is very bad :/ ..
