I'm amazed that you call this a wooden boat show, when it's advertised as an ACBS Antique and Classic boat show, open to anything built before 1968. There were many classic fiberglass boats at that show, many of them owned by my friends, people who also own wooden boats.

Yep. Proportionally faster and lighter than wood with better hull designs, easier to maintain, comes in much cooler shapes and colors, easier and faster to build, lasts longer with less maintenance (I have a 50 year old fiberglass boat that I use daily and it's just as strong as it was out of the mold and still looks great), it's more popular with the general public, and fiberglass is amazingly cheaper!
