There are a lot more now but they still won't be scattered all over. See the ruins are located all over the worlds and are meant to be hunting spots for monsters while a great deal of the areas between them are for travel and PvP.

I think eventually if they can implement roaming mobs it will be ideal, but there are more and more spawns and camps being enabled in beta.

I had to turn on my hud to remember my potion key and I ended up killing the Orc, and then another that was low on health/stamina, but then the first one caught me naked and finished me off. I didn't even get a chance to loot their corpses =(

However, leakers say that's it's handcrafted and very detailed, with underwater cities and caves under waterfalls, with chests filled with treasures.

No it isnt, if you WALK then it takes the dev time to go from one end to the other. Learn to read.

If you run it goes faster of course. But they never claimed that you should run or sprint.

Just a heads up. While filming this there was a patch that had reduced our fps greatly. I went from constantly being around 80 to being around 30. Add fraps in and it creates the chop. The latest patch fixed this and i'm back up to 80 fps.

Melee swings look decent in strafing, but when character stands still they are really bad.

Anyway, this video shows that DF gfx are pretty neat.

The world is actually somewhat small, takes 70 minutes to cross it in one direction on a mount.

You can walk, run and sprint. Sitting on a mount is way faster then walking, id say 5-6 times faster.

The world is huge. Largest world in any MMO.

They have a lot of the mobs turned off during testing. Also, if your only experience is more recent mmo's, I quite frankly, can not stand the petting zoo approach to mob population.

Thier are accually quite a few mob spawns thier just spread out. Thier not every 2 minutes. You need to look in old ruins and groups of huts or the floating islands.

Gets better every day, although I think they should push back one more month. Being in beta now allows them to put out WTF huge patches which cause other small issues, but being able to do that cause of beta is invaluable. Mar 15-Mar25th is what i'm hoping.

Suck it, I film what I want. There are creatures in most of the empty ruins now, but the wide open areas were always meant to be open. They are going for realism with tons of camping spots, and not auto generated mobs every 1.5 meters in a grid.

Did you slow-motion capture falling from the top of that waterfall, or is that the actual pace? It looked as if you were floating in outer space for a moment, which I like because it would be fun to utilize as a ranger.

Nope that is normal falling speed. It seems just right with small distances but with this jump it seemed a tiny bit slow, but big jumps are a lot of fun.

Beautiful world. Well done. And from what I understand, the game gets better and better right? I can imagine the possiblities already. Last night I was talking with a friend and I said it would be awesome if there were trade ships to raid, as a pirate. Maybe naval trade between cities will exist. It will be very interesting, even if the trade ships have only NPCs on them, to pray on them for a living. :) I believe it is possible, with what I've heard about the game's features so far. Why not? :)

There is a guild setting up to run trade routes on land and sea to provide pirates some fun, and mercenaries as well to protect them. They are called Gilded Compass. They have a calendar that will have events so look them up and eventually you can try to steal their booty haha. I am going to pillage them.

Haha me too man. The one to the left of the screen scared the crap out of me.  The best part is this area, that cave under the waterfall, and that village all used to be empty. Now they all have mobs. It was one of my last complaints/concerns/etc. of the game. They must be working around the clock... I hope they survive this.

I think they will. They are working hard and patching a lot. Im not in beta tho and I dont exactly see it being out on feb 25th. unless they can instantly activate all the mobs and all that good stuff. I wouldnt mind if it got pushed tho it it made the game that much better.
