I would go for a 6950 1GB or a Nvidia 560 1GB. Ti version better but more costly.
Depends on what res you play at anything below 1080p will be fine with 1GB but if your running or plan to run above that and want to crank AA and other settings up. I would try to get a 6950 2GB model. Cool part is most can be flashed to a 6970.
In Metro 2033 the 6950 will run slightly faster iirc. However if you plan to run SLI later I would go with a 560 and get another later. I prefer Nvidia cards & drivers.
