When did Hari Om Sharan Jee pass on? He is so wonderful. Just yesterday, I was just thinking why don't we have his concerts in US. He was such a holy man and great artist. We will miss him but his music and inspiration will live for ever in our hearts. Pinky Wadhwa

I don't know when, but an age will surely come when people will realize the evil effects of too much physicality, and turn to spirituality. Then, they will bury all the vulgar music and will again start listening to Bhajans. All the music by people like Hari Om Sharan and Anup Jalota will then do the work of purifying a large number of souls. When an appropriate time comes, one realizes that Bhajans are even more precious than gold and silver. I, myself, have realized this a few months before.

First I listened Shri Hari Om Sharan ji in 1978 at Kanpur (UP, India), then listened him on All India Radio. I am so sad to know that he is no more with us. May his soul be in Baikunth Dham.

I listen to hari om sharanji since childhood..........have so many memmories associated with his bhajans.....few minutes back come to know about his death.....I am really sad.....my eyes turn into tears....may your true soul rest in peace.........

Lovely person and i had the privilege of spending seven days with him. He was my Guru Bhai. Sadly missed.

the first time i ever heard hanuman chalisa was by hari om sharan ji...that is the only way i know how to sing sankat mochan and hanuman chalisa...thank god i found hanuman chalisa on you tube sung by him...i have searched in vain for his cd...his voice is divine...

my condolences to his family....he is gone from us but his voice lives with us forever....

my deepest felt condolences to the family, i just happened to look this up and found out about Shri Hari Om Sharan's death, I could not even think of any other hanuman chalisa or sunderkand ever since I had listened in my childhood to the one sung by him, he is unforgettable, divine, a gift of God to us, his and Nandini's voice have feelings that touch the deepest core of my heart and act as a soothing medicine for my soul, may he find eternal peace - Jai Siya Ram, Jai Hanuman, Hari Om

I remember Hari Om Sharan Ji so vividly as I believe it was in Toronto when he & Nandini did his first recordings for TV back in 1982. (I mentioned it below)... I still remember how soothing his unity bhajan (Tu hi Ram hain... Tu Rahim hain) was. Whenever a tragedy occured such as Indira Gandhi's assasination, the Air India Disaster etc. Lali Vij would run it on Sounds Of Asia & it honestly would appear like he was directly mourning with us.

Those of you in Canada, did you see Hari Om Sharan sing on TV last April? Hum Sab Ek Hain played a bhajan of his which was taped in 1982 by Sounds of Asia and it came out sooo good!

I grew up with his bhajans and still make my sole fresh , every time I hear them. Great , divine voice.

It is so nice to see he still has it in him. Diabetes has really destroyed him physically, but vocally he is still the man we grew up listening to. I had the great opportunity of meeting him and his wife just a couple of days ago, and hearing them sing is just so soothing to the ears.

Nandini Sharan is Of Indian Origin although she was born in Guyana (1838 arrival of the Indian indentures).I had the honor of meeting both of them in 2006 when they perform at the Durga Shiva Mandir in the Bronx, NY
