I suppose physicians are relying more upon radio graphs and technology to do the diagnosing for them. One wonders how they would examine patients out in the mission field.
one thing that you need to be cautious while making the estimate of the jvp is to get the ruler as orthogonal to the horizontal ground as possible, then shining a light from the top of the jugular pulsation toward the ruler again trying to make the light as orthogonal to the ruler as possible, only this way would the height of the venous column be close to being accurately projected onto the measuring device.
