You could do the exact same thing anywhere in the world. These types of pieces are all done the same way - you spend a few hours and quickly interview a couple of hundred people, then edit it down so that you just show the tiny little snippets where people answer in a way that makes them look the way you want them to look.

@garbuhj1 You are exactly right. It really is unfair as they can only show those clips that make people and their country seem ignorant. That is why if anyone ever comes up to ask you to answer questions on film, SAY NO! You could easily find yourself a laughing stock later even if you answered 95% of the answers correctly. No one knows everything and it only takes 1 dumb answer. I probably wouldn't have had any problem but the smart thing is don't take the risk for no gain (they don't pay).

Granted, there are some dumb-asses in this video. However, if a camera is shoved in your face sometimes synapses and access to trivial information don't process well. Stage fright does exist. This is not some objective measure of people's intelligence. It's a subjective compilation of some people's answers from the U.S. I guarantee the same video can be make in Australia with a similar sampling pool and just as many 'stupid' answers would occur.This is no objective measure of intelligence.
