    I need to know

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @twilightfan3031 Not sure if your fair is already past but it really does work. My lil sis had a sleep over and her freinds made ice all night using this method. LOL its an easy way to get ice cream without accually buying any. but it does get addictive at times lol

  • Can i use.. "IODIZED SALT" instead of table salt???

  • Great tip...thanks!

  • it really works??

  • Im eating some right now ITS GOOD! AND EASY!

  • o my i want one of those garbage can i want to make my own just villa ice cream and lots of candy bar chops yum yum

  • Wow, you're spoiling a lott of icecubes.

Are that many icecubes & salt necessary?

    Or do you need salt?

All it's doing is melting the icecubes, right?

  • is vanilla essential or can i substitute for cocoa powder?

  • Vanilla is added for flavor. You can add vanilla and cocoa, whatever you'd like.

  • thanks! And...er....lets say I were to double he recipe to make more, should I add more ice and salt also?

  • Thanks "Dr. Diana"! haha, thanks for the idea, I just put the cube trays outside and filled them with water to freeze over the night so I can make home-made icecream tomorrow when my friend comes over! Thanks, as little of a deal this is it's as big as a deal as a life-saver haha.

  • these ice cream is very good and it is less calories if you make your own

  • IM BORN ON JULY 15TH AHHHHHH

  • Thank u!! I was looking for how to make ice creame for a while

  • i did this be fore! i dont think it was worth shaking though only got a lil ice cream but i used rock salt

  • i like blue bubble gum

  • Ice cream Facts:

Largest-selling flavor? Vanilla; not because it is the favorite, but because it is used in more desert recipes.

    Most popular flavor? Chocolate!

The Fast-freeze ice cream method in this video really works, however the resulting confection has a grainy texture that ice-cream connoisseurs disparage.

The name "Haagen-Dazs" with digraphs is not from any real language, but was invented to fool Americans into thinking it had Scandinavian origins.

    It's still good though!

  • i did this in science last year, it was freaking awesome!

  • in what grade science class?

  • did it in science class today it tastes amazing.

best ice cream I've ever had!

  • Cn i just put all th ingredients in and freeze it ? without putting it in a lot of ziplocks with ice ?

  • you can it just takes alot longer

  • well no u cant do that with the ice cream. u have to have it in a bag sorounded with salted ice because the salt brings the ice temp down and keeps it down for a long time...

  • i did this is taste pretty good and i also added sprinkles to make it even more fun!

  • fucking dead,, that was amazing...

  • awesome! Is there a way to do this with larger portions?

  • wow i tried it and it works but mine is chocolae flavored

  • i tried this, i used wayyy too much milk so it wouldnt freeze, well it was sweet cold milk anyway.

  • does it taste good

  • my way is put milk put sugar water put egg put any of ur favourite flavour and shake shake shake then put in the freeze for 3 hours

  • i went to the same exact place when we had a tournament in cocoa beach and we stopped by tht ice cream shop haha

  • i tought it was cream, milk, eggs, sugar, boiled to make the icecream mix then add the vanila then put it on ice. then it would make like soft severd put on freezer overnight to make ice cream.

  • great , i love it , thinks

  • cool

  • Holy crap! We did this in my middle school science class! it tasted great.

  • We did this in our middle school too! It was yummy! But it melted too fast =(

  • tnx 4 dis...

  • umm, im gonna try this... idk if it will work though

  • I tried this. It works! it really does! cause i didnt think it would work either!

  • nope, it's still a liquid...

  • made this now its awespome

  • pause at 4:22, doesnt look like she liked it haha

  • i was about to say that. hahahaha.

  • she only used milk..You really should use heavy cream as well..tastes better

  • @DeadlyWill yea it dosent tase good i have tryed it

  • on other shows it takes hours to churn the ice cream and freeze it, but this recipe only took a couple of minutes!!!

  • I tried this out! I was succesful!

Thank you for the video :)

  • cool stuff

  • can the milk be fat free?

  • it will end up more runny than not

  • awesome video

  • nice video, to get around having to shake it by hand, you could put it inside a salad spinner

  • lol i made this at skewl when i was little we were doing this for a science project... and amazingly i turn out kinda good... and ao thats why i love making ice cream this way when i want ice cream =D

  • after you shake all the salt around, cant you just leave it?

  • ima make this tomarro when i wont wake any one up MAN THAT LOOKS GOOD:) my dad made this icecream that tasted amazing and im not a big vanilla fan but when he made that i loved it :) nice vid ~!

  • Any way to make it chocolate ice cream?

  • You can make it any flavor you want. Just add chocolate syrup, strawberry, etc.. Don't add too much of the flavoring ice cream will be less firm.

  • In my chemisrty AP class [its after the ap test already] we are having a lab competion to see who can make the best ice cream this way, but we are going to use coffee cans instead. My group also wants to do other flavors. Do yu have any tips for us? haha, we want to win =]

  • Glad to see young females interested in science!

Coffee can is a great idea will help with insulation. Just make sure to use milk with fat content for thicker icecream.

Good luck with your AP Chem class and future scientific endeavors.

  • thankyou very much! haha I actually plan to major in biochemistry or something of close relation, thanks for the encouragement.

Okay. But one question, will heavier creams give a better texture? Or shall we remain with the milk?

  • whole milk will give you a richer ice cream.

  • wow it work

  • can you tell me the ingredients pls ..

  • Half a cup of Cream or Milk

One teaspoon of Vanilla or any other flavours u want to make ur ice cream taste like

    Half a tablespoon of sugar

    That's all .!

  • Any idea on how to make this chocolate? Because I like Vamilla but ilike chocolate more.

  • I'm hungry lol nice vid.

  • Comment removed

  • i just made this. it was amazing.

  • i know the difference between endo and exo

    i love chemistry :)

  • i know the difference between endo and exo :)

  • Please study and research the differences between endo and exothermic reactions prior to taking your exam.

  • I never said making ice cream was a chemical reaction in the video. I discuss that it is an endothermic reaction vs. exothermic. No mention of chemical vs. physical changes, etc. Thanks lemonpiss now go make some ice cream.

  • y so much science i might make an A in science doesnt mean i like it

  • It's not an endothermic reaction like she said. But who cares, good video!

  • lauriethepigeon-

Yes, it's an example of endothermic reaction.

Endothermic means that the sustances that react are gaining or absorbing energy in order to react. As the salt mixes with the water an endothermic process occurs, which means heat is pulled out of the surroundings to mix the ice and salt. Since heat is pulled from whatever source is near, much of the heat is pulled from the ice cream and sugar, causing the once liquid milk and sugar to lose energy and become solid ice cream.

  • ~4-6 cups of ice

~2 quart size zip lock bag

~1 gallon size sip lock bag

    ~half cup milk

    ~half tease spoon Vanilla

    ~one tablespoon Sugar

    ~6-8 table spoon of salt

Add all the ingredients into the quart size bag. After that, put the bag into the other quart size

bag to prevent leek. Put the 2 bags into a gallon

size bag. Next, put 4-6 cups of ice Into the gallon size bag surrounding the 2 bags. Also add 6-8 tablespoon of salt as well. Shake the bag for about 10min. Then Enjoy :]~

  • so easy bot taysty

  • i didnt have the gallon sized bag so i just put the ziploc bag with the ingredients in the freezer and it turned out fine

  • Thank you for the salt revelation.

  • Diane, either you run a lot or you only eat ice cream once a month, because by eating ice cream now and then, it's impossible to have that kind of body, even if you never have a kid.

  • hi dr diana,i want to try this but i didn't know if what kind of milk i choose, thanx

  • For the thickest icecream use regular milk not lowfat, reduced fat.. etc.. .You want the fat for the cream. However, it's up to you.

  • if you want substitute soft-serve, try mixing it in a bowl until it looks good

  • dont use table salt, rock salt works better

  • I will forever associate Ice Cream day with Fannys all over America sweating .... get me an Ice Cream

  • MisterGlasgow,

Thanks for watching.. Yes, unfortunately, fanny in US does not mean the same anatomical part as it represents in Australia. So I'm sure you are getting a nice thought in your head..BTW.. my son lives in Australia.

  • Yea, we learned in science class. But we didn't have 3 bags like you did instead we have 2 bags, our group forgot to wash the bag after done. So the ice-cream tasted salty xD Fun experience tho! Thanks for sharing!

  • OMG americans love eating ice cream so much they dedicate a day to it...its probalbly just an excuse to get fat on ice cream!!!!

  • yep i've made it that way or you can use a mason jar inside a coffee can and roll it back and forward on a table or floor.

  • Yes, that's often a method used by classroom teachers.

  • why do we have to put the mixture in bag with rock salt instead of putting it directly in the freezer?

  • You can put it in a freezer as well. This video is a process using the rocksalt and ice to make the liquid turn into a semi-solid.

  • my ice cream didnt even work ahhhh

  • :o this is gettin me hungry XD

  • when you say vanilla, do you mean vanilla extract?
