And about that "defensive rubbish" that you're talking about, defense is an art and still a crucial part of the game. Italy are the masters in that aspect of the game but they are not just a defensive team. They scored 12 goals in the 2006 world cup with 11 different goal scorers. They know how to attack and when they combine that with their solid defence they are a team that is verging on unbeatable. They are efficient and smart about the game and alot of times that is what pays off in the end

We were lucky like hell (penalty, red card, Ribery taken off the field), without that luck we would have been beaten, the results against Romania and Holland...don't even get me started on that one. We don't stand a chance against Spain, no matter how well we played them in the past.

I've been watching football for much longer than you and I can tell you that it's super unpredictable, there are so many factors that have can affect the end result, and it's not just a matter of who good or bad someone plays. I love the way the Azzurri play and I love their talented players. I also love the way Brazil plays, by the way. I see you are from Brazil. I am a Milan fan and we have many great Brazilians on the team as you know! Plus I work with someone who is on visa from Brazil and I am cheering for his team Fluminense in the Libertados final and will watch the game!

The Azzurri do not play just defensively any more--they play an attacking game too--it's a balanced game. Brazilian coaches have said they would have Pirlo on their national team if they could...:-)

uynn italy doesnt perform poorly. This past euro cup was definitely not played to their full potential but u also have to take into consideration that they were missing their captain and key players. Italy has a quality team but their new coach was very inexperienced and didnt know how to use them. They had a bad euro and they need to make some changes but you're certainly not giving them the credit they deserve. They've proven themselves for many years. One bad tournament does not define a team
