whatever you do don't touch anything on the ipod while it is jail-breaking, I did and i had to wipe my ipod on a different computer. Also if you touch it it wont turn on and all you will see is the apple. SO LEAVE IT ALONE!

it allows you to do things that the original maker of the product meant it to do. So like after you jalibreak your iPhone you can install a program which allows you to go into SMS text messaging in landscape mode. and stuff like that.

are you on a new mac? if so, this is going to happen (it happened to me)

what i did is i jailbroke it on a pc, and it worked w/ no problems

i then fixed my mac so it would accept the jailbreak, but it is kind of extensive (at least it was when i did it)
