Just a little bit of trivia that I heard from somewhere. I think Japanese houses/manors were made to have noisy floorboards to protect the home's occupants from unknown invaders breaking in at night. Hard to miss several theives or killers coming in when the floor makes so much noise. ( and then came Ninjas )
