I want to decorate my tambourine and want to know if acrylic paint is ok for the top...does it rub off when you play?

Not really sure as it depends on the type of tam head you have. Start with the natural skin heads and it should work. The Mylar and plastic heads may have issues. Again, I'm not sure, but sounds like an interesting experiment.
