Pretty Good! Just know that real snowboarding is NOT when your face and body are facing down the hill. And it's VERY important to stay on the BACK edge of the board if you're gonna do it the way they are. Because if your weight shifts over to the front, downhill edge, you will go down FAST!! OUCH!
In any case, I snowboarded like this, but using the "Falling Leaf" pattern for almost my whole first season. Read my article "You Don't Have to Hurt Yourself to Snowboard" on SnowboardSecrets. com!
@SnowboardSecretsTV Anyone doing a falling leaf their entire first year, unless your first year was 4 outings, should NOT be writing articles unless it's on that completely useless 'how to' site that describes how to like the south park gnomes. NO offense but serious, aptitude just isn't there honestly but heart probably. Or , maybe I'm wrong. Maybe someone without aptitude that mastered the sport IS best to teach because you can relate better??!??..hmmm
@fluffunotfat11 if you are doing a box or a rail, just ride it. My cousin is a beginner and I talked him into doing it and he said it was so easy! It is nothing different that riding on the snow. Just make sure that you do not try turning when you are on it because that will not work. Just stay straight and stay balanced, it is way easier than it looks.
Good job but slide slipping really is NOT hard. AT ALL. And it's really not even that fun. If you want your whole body facing down the mountain like that, ski
i want to learn how to snowboard sooo bad, but i live in atlanta, GA and its too hot there, rarely snows ,and i dont want to waste money to go up in the mountains if i dont even know how to snowboard
it only took me 3days of riding for about 6 hours each day to learn to ride heelside toeside. And it took me 7 8hour days if not more to start riding proficiently. Now this is my 3rd year riding and im got about 60days on my season pass and yeah im shreddin it up. It just depends how much you actually want to ride and what you want to do with it and your dedication to the sport.
i'm gonna take private lessons at Snow Bowl in flagstaff, az next season. i've never snowboarded, but i use to skateboard in HS. is Snow boarding as easy to pick up as skate boarding?? i remember when i first jumped on a skateboard, i fell a few times, then within an hour i was able to skate all over the place, then an hour after that i was going up and down ramps with good balance. about 2 weeks later i was able to ollie and do basic tricks.
Granted I'm def not the best and still have more to learn, but it's kinda funny watching videos of people just learning and remembering what it was like for me! haha
my god their calves must have been way too sore the next day only doing heel side. lol
my friend only taught me how to strap in and get ONTO a lift. i never learned falling leaf, just went straight to carving cause that's what i saw on tv (lol). it worked marvelously. i went down green runs without falling on my 1st day. i say try not to be scared and just lean forward. =]
I got to this level on my first day snowboarding, and I didn't have an instructor, or friends to help me out. but I did ski a little in previous years.
people who can't learn how to do it in one day is just a fail.. it's not that hard to learn it after going down the hills enough times you should get the hang of it
there is your lesson instead of this crap ass video
The worst is seeing couples trying to learn to snowboard when they are like, holding onto eachother, you just think 'Oh my god they are sooooo gonna stack it haha!'

i want to learn how to snowboard,,with great determination and focus,,how many moths it owuld take to be able to learn just the basics,,just being able to go downhill,,,of cours no tricks yet thanks
@Agentzero200077 It doesn't take months at all. As long as you have someone to teach you, you should be able to at least get up, and slide down the slopes like the people in this video, which only took them a day. Point is.. get a good instructor if you want to progress quickly. If you just want to have fun, it may take longer, but you'll still get there.
definitely - take awongk's advice - stick with it - after your first lesson w a trained instructor - and a full day on the mountain, youll get hooked like the rest of us! :) someone with a lot of determination that will listen to the instructor will get down the basic c turns and toe/heel action within a few hours. you'll eventually find your own way - but with this comes a lot of falling and sometimes a little pain. lol
stick with it - snowboarding is seriously great :)
@Agentzero200077 back when I was starting out as a kid, I learned to carve, very roughly, but carve nevertheless on the first day. The key is not to give up, and keep pushing yourself, once you learn it, its like, how the hell did I not do this b4... So as long as you have determination, and someone to give you some tips along the way, not even an instructor, a friend who knows just the basics is enough, youll be flying through the park and jumping kickers in no time.
@Agentzero200077 Agreed with the other poster. For me, it took 3 solid days of busting my ass before I could be comfortable on the beginner slopes. The first 72 hours are rough, but it's smooth sailing after that. Just ask someone about the Falling Leaf, and learn to do that really well. You'll be carving in no time.
@Agentzero200077 Depends on the person usually, im a quick learner, on my first day after a few hours of practice, Black Diamond became easy, you will get it, just dont be scared
@Agentzero200077 I snowboarded for the first time when i was 15. by day 3 i went down a blue with no falls. it wasnt pretty but it happened. it all depends on you
you can learn to go down with basic turns in one day to control correctly and maybe small strait jumps 2-3 days

i agree its not learning in 1 day but that's not bad for the 1st day, i almost got a concussion my 1st time :) (grant it my friends told me it was a good idea to rock a black diamond)...
OMG! This vid shows nothing. I mean they are just riding the board horizontal. IDK whats the right word but i call it horizontal riding :)
I have a lot of problem with the carving. I was yesterday for the very first time and I know how to do this horiz. riding, but carvnig is sooo hard.
Im a goofy rider and i know how to turn right (heelside turn) but Im faaling alway and im telling U always on my knees when I try to turn left (toe side) :S
@trzamifinger222 Check out the expert village one with the lady and big goggles. She mentions how to "rock" your hips and face up mountain while doing toe-side. Remember that the key is moving your lower body while keeping your upper body balanced. I kept these points in mind and can do toe sides pretty nicely now.
I kind agree the title misleading. They did pretty well in one day, but not really "learn to snowboard"!
No matter you are rider or skier. You must know how to make continuous turns and make stop at certain speed. Then you can claim yourself "learn to snowboard or ski".
shut the fuck up dickhead. You know nothing about snowboarding. Obivisously never heard of japan have you? Worlds greatest powder and home to some of the worlds greatest half pipe and free style snowboard riders. hahaha when you know something about snowboarding come back and talk to me until then shut the fuck up
This is learning how to heelside falling leaf on a snowboard in one day. TOTAL misrepresentation of title. Many beginners are able to learn heelside falling leaf in one day. Not my definition of snowboarding.
@daipai21 yup not snowboarding at all... and @TheXbox360News your also right lol...you can barely board anymore without some asian falling in front of you.
HAHAHA if you new anything about snowboarding youd know that japanese riders are someone the best riders in the world. How i know you know nothing about snowboarding cause i used to think like the same as you then i actually did a few seasons instructing and saw how amazing asain riders are. So shut the fuck up. Mate people have gota learn somehow, ive instructed ppl and id be happy if they could do that after a lesson.

@W4lly16 Wear a helmet. You might look like a fool to some people but at least you wont act like one because you got a concussion .
retardbuss 1 year ago
@retardbuss That's the thing, I had a helmet. It was a very hard fall. If I didn't have that helmet, it would've been lights out for me.

Is there any good vid for that?
trzamifinger222 2 years ago
@trzamifinger222 Check out the expert village one with the lady and big goggles. She mentions how to "rock" your hips and face up mountain while doing toe-side. Remember that the key is moving your lower body while keeping your upper body balanced. I kept these points in mind and can do toe sides pretty nicely now.
ditachan 2 years ago
Yeah man... I tried that yesterday and somehow i have managed to do the toe-side turn. And whats even better I have linked my 3 turns lol
Heel-side toe-side heel-side :)
Thx dita

if i saw that many people i would be so fucking annoyed haha

I kind agree the title misleading. They did pretty well in one day, but not really "learn to snowboard"!
No matter you are rider or skier. You must know how to make continuous turns and make stop at certain speed. Then you can claim yourself "learn to snowboard or ski".

This is learning how to heelside falling leaf on a snowboard in one day. TOTAL misrepresentation of title. Many beginners are able to learn heelside falling leaf in one day. Not my definition of snowboarding.
daipai21 2 years ago
@daipai21 yup not snowboarding at all... and @TheXbox360News your also right lol...you can barely board anymore without some asian falling in front of you.
33ltd 2 years ago
its not the asians falling in front of you. its the ski'ers that think they rule the mountain that get in the way 100% of the time.
