  • Hello Liza!

this novel was very rewarding and you are so natural ESRT attanchante, I too talkative, I cut a particular word and I get depressed quickly but this story helps me fix this for the first time, I'd like to meet Ketut to treat my wife who has suffered the "evil eye"

    thank you

    Yours

  • I love to write stories and Elizabeth Gilbert keeps inspiring me a lot! I have read the copies of Eat, Pray, Love and Committed in Japan. I have read the copy of Committed twice and I started to reread the other a week ago. While I was reading the book of Committed, I did figure out how complicated marriage was; no wonder people prefer to stay single. That is the last option I would grab. Anyway I would like to congratulate Liz and her husband Felipe.

  • her karma will find her.

she destroyed her marriage and profited on it.

probably responsible for many divorces as well.

what sort of person is she?

  • @jetpackjimmy well, I see what you're saying but is there any other way to find happiness in life?.. and why marry at all if you are going to be unhappy in a marriage. She was looking for some stud from south america who in turn probably wants uses her.

Her ex husband is probably a greater person than she is imo, from what I've known he has been involved in humanitarian work, has a wife and children now. She is articulate writer no doubt but not that great as a person, pretty dumb actually.

  • @mlmilimmitable a. nobody gets married expecting it to fail b. if you read the book it would be quite obvious he wasn't using her, especially considering the fact that they are still together c. there is truly no way to measure who is a "greater" person. That is wonderful that he ex is a humanitarian, but does that make him a better person just because she did what made her happy? And no "dumb" person would be as successful a writer as she is

  • @mlmilimmitable karma? for seeking happiness in her life? oh so she was clearly trying to find ways she could make money when she found herself in a pit of loneliness and depression... HOW SELFISH! And for her to inspire other women to not feel forced into staying in unhappy marriage? What an awful person, may her "karma" find her soon...

  • I can't wait to read this book. The author's marriage is similar my marriage...we were sentenced to wed...and 15 years later we are still so very much in love.

  • @scomo25 you a ho...

  • To ahnaknits: Who said I didn't read her book? Yes, I am quite well versed in the Hollywood trend of embellishing stories and taking artistic license.

You are misinformed when you tell me "please don't judge authors of books...." That is exactly what we are supposed to do. They (authors, actresses, etc.) put their work out there and we are to judge and decide.

  • Obviously, Ms. Gilbert has issues with marriage. That is why she just chucked her whole marriage for no good reason, wrote a book about it and made a lot of money. If you watch the movie (based on her book) she is selfish and just does what she wants.

If she wanted to discover herself, why not travel WHILE she is married instead of divorcing. Self indulgent and selfish. I suspected she had a lot of problems but she is now making peace with the institute of marriage. Finally.

  • @paco11051 Please don't judge authors of books based on movies made about their books. Surely you must know how much liberty Hollywood takes in making movies. I highly recommend that you read "Eat, Pray, Love." It's a great book, and much more complex than the perception you are voicing about it.

  • @paco11051 Wow, you are so taking this personaly. Did someone left you?

Not everyone has to leave the husband to evolve. She did it, it was her desicion. What is wrong with that?

Why should you judge her? Are you her ex husband?

You can not say how should someone discover herself, everybody has a different journey...

  • I totally understand where she's coming from. I'm in a relationship with a foreign national from Iraq, we are both divorced, we are both committed to each other for almost 2 years now, still head over heels, and it seems marriage will be the only way for us to officially finally be together. It's very hard doing long-distance, and we don't want to get married JUST to be together, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!

  • self indulgent superficial purveyor of atonal noise

  • involve the Homeland security?......and there you go....A SEQUEL...Nice plot miss Elizabeth Gilbert....Well planned and well executed!

  • Das Buch "Eat, Pray, Love" enthält soviel Wahrheit über das Leben und die Liebe. Es ist unglaublich! Elizabeth Gilbert hat ein wundervolles Werk geschaffen.

  • The fact that she had to marry this guy to get him into the country...yeah, that's a little too "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" for me. I really hope, for her sake, that in four years, he doesn't come out of the closet...and they end up in court. Sounds shady...

  • @amberberglund

I hope he DOES divorce her, and she gets a taste of what it's like to be left out in the cold, like her EX husband was.... I very much PRAY that for her, lol....

  • @blupheonix44 wow why would you wish or pray that upon anyone? bitter much?

  • @blupheonix44 Ha ha, what a prayer? Maybe it comes back to you..

Would you like for the person to stay with you even if she doesnt love you or cant stand you? Sometimes divorce is the answer. Why you people take this personaly?

  • @amberberglund Have you even read the book? It does explain WHY marriage was the only option.....

  • just finished the book. enjoyed it.

  • This book is really good - just finished the audio version of it . The good thing about the audio version is that Elizabeth reads the book and so her personality comes out and she is delightful!

  • @nathalieb117 where did you get the audio version? I would like to find it. Also is it available for Eat Pray Love in audio?

  • Is it as good as Eat Pray Love? That is my favorite book =)

  • I'm reading it now and it's awesome...

  • Great to hear there is now a sequel to the first book! I loved it!

  • She's awesome
