I don't recommend shooting them because they can--and often do--still spray as they die.

If you have to kill them the best thing to do is submerge the trap (with the skunks in it of course) inside a trash can filled with water.

nice video, did you release them or shoot em? thats what sucks about skunks i wish i could relocate them but i just dont want to walk up the the cage and get sprayed so unfortunatly i have to shoot them, but im not going after them im going after the gray foxes and racoons that eat our chicken if you can tell me a not lethal method of relesing them please tell me, because there not the trouble makers.

@1994JMF I called a professional wild animal relocator. He used a heavy blanket as a shield and walked up to the cage & covered it with the blanket. The blanket had a calming effect. He transported the skunks to a wildlife refuge & released them safely. There's no need to shoot them.
