  • i feel sorry for the people waiting in that red car lmao

  • How long is this train? 4, 5 miles? lol

  • a union pacific?

  • We get those trains in Burnaby too. Sometimes they are slow too.

Sometimes vehicle drivers will try to get across the crossing before the engine gets there. Even if the gates are down. I recorded that on a video last week.

  • 2 locos and 131 freight cars and no caboose? fail! LoL

not really, i just miss the old caboose at the end of the trains.

  • what kind of locomotive was that?

  • Good video

  • thats one fucking long train :O

  • So far, the Best Train Horns of CN

  • Who could not like trains?! :)

  • my ass acks

  • wow wow

  • best video ever

  • thumbs up if you had your speakers on full blast and didnt expect the train to blow that horn.

  • Love it...my 2yr old grandson loves trains

  • Fantastic video

  • Two engines can pull that and more.

  • I love the CN !!!!!!

  • Nice horn. Go CN!

  • it is so unbelivable that 2 locomotives can pull such a long freight train!

    Awesome!

    5*****

  • @LSZocker2009 A lot depends on whether or not the cars are loaded or empty. Remember, a 100 car empty train weights around 3,000 tons. For two locomotives that isn't that much weight. (Of course a lot depends on locomotive type, grade, weather, etc....)

  • Thats a badass horn!

  • 25,000 HP

    10,000 TON

    trains are owned :D

  • WOW ! NOW THATS FREIGHT LOL ! and i mean some hang time at that crossing! lol.........love those bad boys ! im a midwest boy, so i'm used to these........but here in Connecticut ?! OH HELL NO! these people out here would have fits upon an IQ to put up with this ! i notice the way the rerouting of the tracks are done here to avoid traffic and RR crossings!........i dunno.......sort of like.......it should happen! ya know? cause ya just gotta have patience for the backbone of the country!

  • You can see when the video is ending, the train is stopping really slow.

  • @mrshutter45 then don't watch train videos!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mrshutter45 Ohhhh my gosh, yr a jackass! If you had no choice to chose, I think it's obvious to us railfanniers that you'd probably chose trains. =P

  • UP SD90MAC

  • is that a dash8?

  • I live about half a mile from railroad tracks, and I haven't heard any trains lately.

  • why do they always blast their horn every time they pass a crossing?

  • Because people over there dont use the brain and think what a red light means.

  • to alert ppl that their coming

  • Oh, so the warning bells and flashing red lights isn´t enough!?

  • The crossing signals can always malfunction. While they are a very great thing, no system is perfect. And an engineer won't know that the crossing signals are malfunctioning until he's right upon the crossing...and he's close enough to see that either the gates aren't down, or the lights aren't flashing in the little "peep holes" on the sides of the flashing red lights. He/she can't tell before getting that close.

  • well, maybe it´s time to upgrade the signals then! like here there are signals that tells the engineer if the gates are down or not, long before the train passes

  • Are those crossing gates activated by the train when they cross a certain point, and or by the engineers?

  • magic!

  • there's either a button that the engineer presses or a snenson in the tracks

  • @mrke8ting

An electric current runs through the rails. When the train nears the crossing, the wheels and axles of the train carry the current across the rails, and this is sensed by the crossing equipment and used to activate the lights and gates. Most crossings like this can sense the speed of the train and will activate sooner for fast trains or later for slow ones.

  • the train is gettin' slower and slower

  • my dad s in this company, he works for them he is a leader of the part of micigan, throo battle creek throo sarnia or somthing, i love these trains too, thx for posting

  • Nice

  • ummm.....i luv crossings, especially when its a go train

  • This is a really long train.

  • thanks for sharing!

  • waht a horn !!!!!!!! nice

  • I really like the long blast of the train horn. Great video!

  • Me to, thanks!

  • @ic6071 Me three!! =D

  • Where we are, they enforced a quiet zone on the CN line near our house, probably because of an increasing volume of trains over the years. The Metra-by-day-Wisconsin-Southern-by-night RR near our house isn't in the quiet zone yet, thank goodness.

  • i like to count the cars, and there,s 135 of them and two engines

  • nice horn.

  • The second train, there is a model. Go to MTH.

  • thanks :)

  • no problem!

  • can someone tell me what a manifest train is?

  • mixed freight train

  • CN's run in the US?

  • Yes, from Canada to the Central United States. :)

  • oh, cool thanks

  • what!! a lot of red lights...marvelous

  • i tihnk i had like 118 cars, i forget but thats alot for jsut 2 engines

  • cn all the way 200 ft from my house

  • nice!

  • Anyone else counting? 131 cars by my count, all pulled by 2 locomotives... ;)

  • yeah, CN is known for underpowering trains out here

  • Crossing gates needs some maintenance, notice you can't hear the bell at all!!!

  • actually, for some reason, the bell is designed to go off once the gates lower completely.

  • Correction: Some signals silence the bell once the gates fully lower, others continue to ring it until the gates return to their original position.

  • great horn!

  • I like Cn horns I wish CSX had them.

  • This is a really long train.

  • CN.... practically in my backyard... that and im CANADIAN!!!

  • I didn't know that CN locomotives are in Illinois right now.

  • Yes CN has several lines in IL ever since they bought out Illinois Central...those assholes lol

  • GREAT VIDEO!!!

  • cool vid man!:)

  • thanks dude!

  • Sorry I made a typo in that comment. I meant I am so glad there ARE CN trains in Decatur, IL.

  • firealarm911-they have radio's tuned into the train radio frequencies.

  • thanks

  • Actually, the trains come in to Freeport and switch, so we can here them on the radio like Godzilliasom said, but we also know the crews so we call them and ask them where their at sometimes.
