the camera was secured to the window so when that smashed the camera went out. the driver did not know about the camera man as he was behind the tyre wall, he also drove straight back to the pits and back in.
Where was the photographers brain? Standing between armco and catch fencing on a dangerous corner is asking for trouble.
If it wasn't specifically a no-go zone when he signed on (it usually is) surely a bit of common sense would tell you it's not wise to stand somewhere that dangerous?
We were just along the straight after this. It looked horrific from where we stood. Glad to hear no-one was seriously hurt. I did hear something about the car being repairable with a big hammer and some overfenders?!
i got it on vid also i was on the end of the bend bloody lucky hope the photographer is ok tho cars can be fixed after hitting something people are a bit harder to repair
the driver and passanger were ok but the was a photographer behind the barrier who got hurt. it was a bad crash and there is alot of damage to the car.
i was right by this, i gt it on my phone, it wasn't that bad, he drover off with the bumper hanging off nd drove off the track, i think they were more worried about the barrier cz a lorry nd tractor come out nd was there ages repairing it :L

The camera got launched .. sounds like it wasn't very well secured, either..
open passenger visor .. all that glass ..
and what is with the part where they drive back onto the track after hitting someone let alone that much of an off?

I was the passenger in the crash - you can see it but I put my visor down just as I turn back to brace for the impact.
Dan wanted to clear the track so the demo could continue without further delays. Good example of why all race cameras are mechanically secured though.

Photographer injured his leg, I believe. Maybe he will think twice before ignoring all the safety advice in future.

It was the photographer that got hit by the crash barrier the other side I felt most sorry for, I was in the audience right where the impact was.
