as of now its only Minmatar quarters no matter where you dock but this winter has the other three races coming in and they look VERY nice watch?v=c_UZaaig4Dw

the players are getting a bit fed up on the lack off attention to the broken and imbalanced bits put in space tho so optimistically id expect the multiplayer part to be here around Summer 2012 since this winter's expansion is gonna focus on space changes

@zuuemudz No you walk around the captain's quarters to use stations. You see your character a lot throughout the game.  That icon you make at the end is just what you see in the top corner with your name while you're in your ship and is what other people see when they inspect your ship.

Can someone explain this to me? I never played this game, but I always thought it was a sort of space ship type game. If so, what is the point in creating a character? Can you walk around your ship or something like that? From all the gameplay videos it has just been ships floating around. No people walking around.

@ubcs109 no, can't walk anywhere right now. I've cancelled my accout some months ago (3 accounts) and I don't want to go back until 417 ground combat FPS connected to EVE is released, only then this whole EVE project will start making sense and will be worth spending money on, since you will be able by then to play FPS, do ground based missions, walk in stations in space AND do the old space sim stuff that been there since 1995. Then this character creator will make sense.

EVE has amazaing creation of charater which you can't play and amazing ships you can't fly but you just give them directions (that might be logical when it comes to big-sized ship but it makes the whole combat bit boring). I just wish there was as complex space mmo as EVE where you could actually fly your ship using a flightstick. :(

@n64314 That is exactly what it is for. Your full avatar created in this process will be used when out and about in station. The problem is, I think station walking is going to end up in the same category as Starcraft II amd Duke Nukem Forever--i.e. years of waiting for it.

You all are misunderstanding what an RPG really is. I guess you're too young to remember D&D..the boardgame version. An RPG means you're ALWAYS in character; always playing your role--like in drama class. That happens more in WoW than in EVE which is why I like EVE and have been playing it for 5 years. All the people that are always in character make just want to laugh.

This is the most in depth character creation system I've seen. You really get to craft your entire appearance in the game! If I want to be a fat guy, I can be a fat guy, skinny dude, musclehead, jesus. Iknow that's all apparent in the vid, I'm just really blown by this. Really makes it personal. Other developers need to take a cue from CCP on this.
