The music was a perfect choice. The way it gets more and more intense fits really well with how the next star, AGAIN, is epicly huge compared to the previous. Yet the "sweet" tone of it is nicely ironic, as anybody who watches this video would not feel calm after being shown how small and unimportant they are.
It almost stops being impressive because the mind simply cannot comprehend the scale of this things. It's like, oh, you're zooming out again? Ok, that's fine. I really lost track of this shit after Pollux, and you're so massive it's practically arbitrary.
@MrD6M6K6 this is not a hate comment or a comment to make me feel smarter, but when you said "sun is compared to other stars in 'our' galaxy" there are no other starts. The is the only star in OUR galaxy, all other stars are from different galaxies. And the 2 stars that are closest to each other are over 290 million light years away from each other. (light years are bigger than miles) But what u said is very true, wat if we find a planet bigger than jupiter, with life! How about that?
That's... pretty dumb. Ok, you may just be young. One: something tells me you're confusing star systems with galaxies. A galaxy is defined as a massive, gravitationally bound system that consists of stars and stellar remnants. We are located in the Milky Way galaxy, which contains the Solar system we are in, but also many others like it. Two: A planet bigger than Jupiter would also have a gravity greater than Jupiter's. Of course, that could still have life on it, just not anything like ours.
@tarkarobert Actually gravity is related to density, not size. It is a possibility to have a planet bigger than jupiter with less gravity. Or a smaller planet with more gravity.
If the largest planet is 300,000 times the size of the earth then why is it that one million earths can fit inside the sun? I was never good at math, so explain then how many earths can fit into that last gassy planet that is 300,000 times larger than earth. Thanks.
If you blow this up to a screen that is 200' and you put a sharpie dot on the screen it would be too big to be earth. Wow. Now... how can one really think there is no God?
I know...its laughable, but people need things like religion to make them feel better. They feel safe with it. Religion helps to answer all the questions they can't understand. They just say it's about God or God did it. Humanity, which is quite smart, is also quite stupid. Another thing about religion is how funny that almost each ethnic group has their own! Now that right there tells you that it's all made up.
I posted a reply to this but I don't think it went through: you would only feel about 0.00011Gs on the surface of VV Cephei. Keep in mind that it is mostly hot gas and not very dense. I used the upper estimate of 1.98917 x 10^32 kg for the mass and the lower estimate of 1.1128 x 10^12 m for the radius.
wow, nice calculations! I suck at math, but at first sight I'd guessed there would be a lot because the sun has more than one, right? Did you calculated a higher density in the middle also? or did you just took the average. how many g's would there be if it was made from silicon?
I don't like this video. I've seen other versions. Here, apparently because of the way the planets rotate to the right, it looks like you're just going away from them. That gives the illusion that the planets to the right are just becoming smaller because they're going away, instead of being right next to each other. Nice job uploading this though. Thanks, keep it up.
if only those planets and stars are habitable like earth... =(

its done with different comparisons in this case diameter, i think a million earths can fit into the sun if your talking about volumn
darthnutcase 1 year ago
So the largest plant is roughly 300,000 times the size of the earth?
thegoosebrain 1 year ago
They always should have had the earth moving along nest to these planets to show the scale better.

Now imagine the size of a electron compared to W Cephei!
