@johnnygroover under Maritime law they can and should be prosecuted. Since it's actual law rather than the bullshit statutes police, judges, the media etc CLAIM as law, the penalties would be much much harsher.

They can be charged with numerous violations of Maritime law which are actually punishable by DEATH. The Law of the Sea is much harsher than the Common Law of land.
