You are wrong! I have seen these worms come out of pork twice. The first time I forgot a pack of sausages in the freezer of a small fridge that I put out in the back yard. It sat for 2 months unplugged and when I opened it dead baby maggots where everywhere. The second time I heated frozen "cooked" sausages from Wal-mart in a egg mcmuffin toaster that I have. My girlfriend accidently put it away without cleaning it. 2 days later the same tiny maggots where all over.

There is such a high quality control for animals in this country that it is so rare to find that parasite in our meat. I worked in the swine lab at my school and we made sure our hogs were healthy and happy.
Also, for all you vegetarians out there, there are also parasites you can get from vegetables , especially if you don't wash them, such as toxoplasma gondii (aka toxoplasmosis). So really, as long as your food is safe you should remain parasite free.

I'm with you chainedflesh. I am a veterinary technician with a strong interest in parasitology. Anyone who has conducted this experiment with positive results is welcome to come to my house with thier FDA approved meat and prove me wrong. I would love to see this if it is true.
It is 100% true that any uncooked meat can harbor parasites. There is a species of worm found in the tissue of pigs called Trichinella Spiralis. This worm is near microscopic (100-1,300 micrometers in length). These parasites would have to be ingested before they would hatch/mature in your intestine and migrate to muscle tissue. Anyone who does not thuroghly cook thier meat is at risk of parasite and bacterial infection.
Cut Lean pork is not that bad, in fact Lean pork actually has more protein than the same size oz cut of beef. The problem here is the sodium content. Add the sodium content and the higher fat content that people eat in regular cuts of pork and here you have your problem.
If anything coke does to meat is tenderize it because of the the active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. This is what breaks down the meat. and actually could be a great tenderizer. LOL.

That was a bot fly larvae. Trichinella live inside muscle tissue. Tapeworms inhabit the instestine (and segment when disturbed. Bot fly larvae inhabit the space between skin and muscle.
Modern vacccination, farming, and food storage and preparation methods prevent infection of both the pigs and humans with Trichinella.

I said quasi microscopic, if you watch the video you will see that. You cannot see the eggs, nor the young larvae, it is only when Trichinella mature that they become visible to the naked eye. But they are not large enough to be captured by a video camera.

I suppose the whole myth is rooted in the medical fact that HCL (hydrochloric acid) in the stomach causes the casing around the trichinosis larvae to dissolve and therefore release the worms. I must say, after watching this video, I looked at a couple other videos that depicted worms crawling out of the pork. I'll admit that I highly doubt that will happen, but your video allows the pork to sit for 2 minutes, while one of the videos that I watched allowed it to sit for 2 hours. Like I said, I doubt it would make any bit of difference, whatsoever, but maybe you should try it for the 2 hours?

It is 100% true that any uncooked meat can harbor parasites. There is a species of worm found in the tissue of pigs called Trichinella Spiralis. This worm is near microscopic (100-1,300 micrometers in length). These parasites would have to be ingested before they would hatch/mature in your intestine and migrate to muscle tissue. Anyone who does not thuroghly cook thier meat is at risk of parasite and bacterial infection.

Cut Lean pork is not that bad, in fact Lean pork actually has more protein than the same size oz cut of beef. The problem here is the sodium content. Add the sodium content and the higher fat content that people eat in regular cuts of pork and here you have your problem.
If anything coke does to meat is tenderize it because of the the active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. This is what breaks down the meat. and actually could be a great tenderizer. LOL.

Well, there is some truth to what you say about pork being unhealthy, but it is for different reasons. The fat content of pork in the amounts that people eat it is unhealthy for the lifestyle that modern people tend to live.
of the things you mention smoking is the only one that is harmful in small doses.

That was a bot fly larvae. Trichinella live inside muscle tissue. Tapeworms inhabit the instestine (and segment when disturbed. Bot fly larvae inhabit the space between skin and muscle.
Modern vacccination, farming, and food storage and preparation methods prevent infection of both the pigs and humans with Trichinella.

I said quasi microscopic, if you watch the video you will see that. You cannot see the eggs, nor the young larvae, it is only when Trichinella mature that they become visible to the naked eye. But they are not large enough to be captured by a video camera.

I suppose the whole myth is rooted in the medical fact that HCL (hydrochloric acid) in the stomach causes the casing around the trichinosis larvae to dissolve and therefore release the worms. I don't think that the diluted carbonic acid in the coke would have a low enough ph to effectively dissolve the casing.

It's all nutritious. The circumstances of the nutrition are what a person must look at. Certain foods contain trace minerals, eat too much of that food and you poison yourself, too little and you are malnourishing yourself. Fat is the same way. In a sedentary lifestyle fat is not needed but in an active lifestyle fat is a necessary component of diet.
In essence we should all taylor the foods that we eat to our needs.

I must say, after watching this video, I looked at a couple other videos that depicted worms crawling out of the pork. I'll admit that I highly doubt that will happen, but your video allows the pork to sit for 2 minutes, while one of the videos that I watched allowed it to sit for 2 hours. Like I said, I doubt it would make any bit of difference, whatsoever, but maybe you should try it for the 2 hours?

Actually we let the pork sit for about four minutes. We overstayed our wait.
The original video of pork and worms (by Tobuscus) stated two minutes. He later made a revised version that claimed a two hour wait time after all the debunking videos came out.
While I am perfectly willing to conduct another experiment running the two hour timeframe, it would be impossible to do two hours with unbroken footage.

that was the reason originally. A similar reason as religious hygene edicts. it was originally to keep people safe from a disease that could not be understood at the time. But with modern procedures for eliminating the trichinella worms, the religious law is no longer necessary.

Most pork is already free from trichinosis due to modern vaccination techniques. However caution is always a good thing. Freezing meat is one way of ensuring that your meat is free from Trichinella spiralis, thorough cooking as you mentioned is the other best way to ensure it.
