Wow, that State Fair looks impressive! Your very own monorail? Wow, just Wow! Isn't there a State Fair that has a permanent sky chair ride? ....can't think of where it is at right off hand.
IMO I think Butler over-books every season. The Southern California Fair was around the same time as two other fairs that Butler had been booked for. They do have a big midway, but they had to split it up 3 ways. Here in Boise it was here the same time and I have to say it sucked. They had so many doubles because they joined together with another carnival midway. I really hope the western Idaho Fair's contract is over so they could get a different midway.
Same arrangement in Sacramento @ the CA state fair as well. In this case, a company called "Helm & Sons" was here at the same time with some of their rides. IMHO both companies' rides were less attractive than those of Ray Cammack Shows - who we lost the midway contract with in 2008.
Also, I checked Butler's website & they still have the Western Idaho Fair on the 2010 route.
I havnt been on any of the RCS's rides... But I've seen videos of their midway and wow, they have amazing rides!
Yeah I saw that the other day, but it seems like they only have 1 other fair booked around the same time... It seems the California State Fair was moved to an earlier time...

In all the years I'd been to the State Fair, I never once rode the monorail. Looks like a great way to scout what's new. Where do you get on?

Same here however, this CA state fair was the 1st year of a 10 YEAR contract with Butler.
