Another reason why I don't like Slipknot is because how overrated they are when there is much better metal bands out there that need more recognition (like Into Eternity).

Who cares if people know about heavy metal? I love it, but what I'm saying is that part of what makes metal great is that the artists aren't so caught up in themselves like mainstream ones. So metal artists can actually focus on making great music.

I disagree. Metallica is actually the reason why I got into metal. I do not like metallica now, but I love metal. I happen to fall with the majority and say that slipknot is overrated, they are numetal. The fact that I could play slipknot songs 100% accurate while learning guitar and could not play songs by bands like Dying fetus, Into Eternity, King Diamond. and much more. That means something about Slipknot.

NuMetal is just a heavier version of radio rock and that's what slipknot is
