Thanx for a great video! Now i have some ideas for trick i can learn my Cavalier gril =) Not always easy to find new tricks to learn, hehe :) Beautiful dog! I get a toller in some few months :)
Hahaha, bubbles! xD That is one I hadn't seen before. Brilliant. Great job on the training - I hope I will be able to figure this all out before I get my toller :)
Can you please tell me how you taught the trick of your dog putting his front leg in his mouth and then limping. I am trying to teach my dog to limp but he has become dependant on my hand for support
@jflagarde I used shaping and targeting for that one. First I tought her to touch the bottom of the bowl when it was empy and then I slowly started to add water. At first the criteria was still touching the bottom of the bowl and holding that posititon for a while. Once the water level was higher I started to reward only completly dipped nose in the water and later holding that position. Once she started making bubbles it was easy since the bubbles noise became like a marker. :)
@Azoogle Thanks a lot for the explanations. It's really clear in my head now. I'm only a beginner at training dogs, and your videos motivate me a lot. Thanks again.
Watching Wi reminded me of my "best dog" Chelsea. She passed 2 years ago. I still miss her. The two of you are an amazing team. Thanks for sharing with us.
@ArwenLune I mostly use shaping for almost any trick that she knows. First I taught her to pick up and carry around a bowl (well I actually used a number of things so that she got used to holding different materials of diff. shape, size and weight). Then you can add a bigger bowl OR you can seperately teach the dog to put it's head into the big bowl. So when you present them together, ideally the dog should pick up the smaller bowl and then go and place it'h head (while still holding the bowl
@ArwenLune into the bigger bowl. And once you click the dogs usually drop whatever they're holding so it's a good chance that the bowls will stack. Or just shape the dog to walk towards the bigger bowl while carrying the smaller one. If you put the bigger bowl between you and the dog this goes a lot faster too.
I was in awe by that demonstration of some of Wi's tricks! You got really experimental/creative here, I love it! Bah, I love clicker training so much! This is great! 5*'s!!!!
WOW!! You are a really good trainer!! :D And Wi is really good to!! I just love it!! You can really se that Wi loves to please you in any way that she can! :D I wishe everygood to the both of you!!
Wi is just a wonder, I love watching your videos so much, I get excited when you post new ones and you never fail to amaze me. I'm going to have to give that bring your leg trick a try :D I loved all Wi's tricks and you are just a wonderful trainer!
5* and a fav. The bring your leg trick was so original. Did you make that up on your own? Wi's new tricks are fantastic:). And the scenery is just beautiful. Wi doesn't look that big, how much does she wiegh?
I got the idea when she was trying to get something off her front leg and she hold it up while standing. She's also learning how to bring her back leg but she needs more balance for that one. :-)
Wi is about 47 cm tall and weights around 16 kg right now.

Wonderfull video. Great dog and trainer. However, can you explain how you do the "bubbles" trick at 2:20? I can't figure out that one.

I love that sorting/stacking game with the bowls, she looks so pleased with herself :-)
How did you teach that? It's a nice brain game for a rainy day.
