  • Hi Gideon, Thanks for the great content. I was wondering if you were using your canon 60D for this video. I love the blurred background effect, it looks very professional and the fact you're in a home it makes it look very warm and inviting to watch. Feels like I'm having a chat with you over coffee :) Thanks! Deya

  • @ikat75 yeah it was the 60D with a nifty fifty lens... (1.8 50mm)

  • Hi Gideon, Just wanted to say thanks for your videos they are ace & really helping my video business in the UK. There is a company in the UK who use the meet like know and trust as their slogan. 4Networking. They are a networking group & the idea is you get to know people and when they like and trust you they are more likely to buy from you. Simples!

  • I MISSED IT PLEASE HHELP !! LOL

  • Personal branding is so important and something we have concentrated on from the day we first started our business online. Video is just the perfect way to do that. Love your videos and content Gideon

  • What type of camera was used to film this video? The quality is great.

  • like your stuff.

  • shalwick or schalkwyk ? - Ausie/BoereSeun :)

I enjoyed your videos, you are very comfortable in front of the camera.

  • @GarthPhilpot my original surname is "van Schalkwyk" - but that does not go along well with the English speaking world lol!

  • @GideonShalwick You have a great looking home, you are lucky to be working from it !

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111

  • What about when you have a pen name? I have a couple of pen names (one for short stories and poems), one for my procrastination blog. At the end of the day though, it is my picture. How do I spin that off or even, should I spin that off so that I can sell it later? Is it even more important to guard your image under those circumstances?

  • Gideon it's always a pleasure to watch your videos and tips!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • You are too awesome GIdeon. I am beginning to create more and more videos with my online business thanks to you. My blog is ranked 250,000 on Alexa. I owe many people a lot of thanks with most of it going to you and Yaro. You both have done so much for me.

I have also been following Katie and I absolutely love what she does as well. I wish you both the best! I will be signing up for the free webinar. How could I miss it?

  • nice talk Gideon

  • good video :)

  • No links to Katie Freiling online stuff?

  • @jtwebman Hey JT - just watched one of your vids - you are GREAT on camera!!! Also, I have just added my link to Katie's videos in my description area below the video. Thank you for asking!

    Gideon Shalwick

  • @GideonShalwick Wow thanks for watching, I try to get better each time. I need to invest some money in better mics and some lighting. You have been a huge help, thank you for all of your videos!

  • I think selling your personal brand massively depends on what you're marketing within it. I can see where it would come in handy depending on the business.

In the cases where selling it might be valid, I'd think making the business in question it's own entity would be a wise choice. You can still brand yourself outside of that while making it clear you run that particular business. That way you have the personal brand and it's not as difficult to remove yourself from it if you decide to sell.

  • @aaronedgardrum Also, I don't have any specific questions I'd like you to ask Katie. I'm just excited to see her presentation and what you have to ask her!

  • @aaronedgardrum great thoughts there Aaron! I like what you said about making the business it's own entity separate from your own brand. That's what I've been doing with Rapid Video Blogging and some of my other products/businesses too.
