  • I think I came.

  • @cadillac4x4limo

Words cannot express the beauty of this video...a 514 cube, well done Caddy motor in a 59 is close to the holy grail of Cadillac enthusiasm. Now if this had been a 59-60 Eldorado Brougham (or a 57) I'd of shit my pants straight up LOL...but where the Brougham's esteem is higher the others make up for it with the unmistakable tail fins.

  • Man thats power , you had my toes balled up in my shoes .LOL

  • thats horrifyingly awesome

  • great car !!!...don't change a thing !!!

  • That air cleaner likes like the one from a carbureted 5.0 Mustang. Is it?

  • gREAT!

  • 3 mpg but it's totally worth it lol

  • 1:29 I freaked and thought there was something crawling out of the engine!

  • is it fast in the corners ? can it actually turn ?

  • Pretty awsome car to bad it sounds like ass

  • Awesome!!!!!

  • CONGRATULATIONS - wicked swap ! ! ! ! Wish my 69 had that much grunt...

  • Very impressive ~ what's the horsepower on that 400 now?

  • Thanks for sharing all this here. I can see why you love her. Rocks~!

  • Great video. I myself had a '59 Cad Coupe De Ville back in 1984-'85. Engine lost coolant and I ended up cracking both cylinder heads. I wish I would have thought to do what you did! I do have a 500 from a 1970 Eldorado and a 472 from a 1970 Coupe De Ville now. I plan to install the 500 in a 1967 Olds F85 2 door sedan and use the 472 as a spare. Should be sweet!

  • At the 2:00 mark...I fell in love

  • Love it !

  • That is wicked cool!

  • Yeah that's the way to treat a car worth a hundred grand or more...... Wish I had one. I'd give anything.

  • Dude why would you brop in the 500? Cadillacs aren't made to be fast and it would have been cheaper/easier/ retained more value if you just restored the 390...imo.

  • @carsRme93 cool factor, bro, cool factor :)

  • @carsRme93 CTS V is the fastest production 4 door in the world

  • @laserstun

Actually the CTS-V is the highest hp 4 door in the world, it's probably not the fastest. I believe the fastest goes to Bentley...but they're not much for stating horsepower ratings. The Arnage version of the motor pushes 530 horse around 4k, but it's 774 torque is ungodly on all accounts and even the "lesser" versions are just unbeatable in terms of power to RPM ratios. Now they're slapping 620ish horse W12's in them so I think they even took -that- from Caddy.

  • is remo1366 serious,or is he really that under educated in the cadillac history?you can look it up on the internet and not look so misinformed next time.i'm not knocking you, just be better prepared the next time you comment on things in an automotive environment,it's an unforgiving world, and your intelligence is greatly scrutinized, and judged.

  • remo1366 really needs to do his homework before asking questions, the eldorado was completely redesigned with front wheel drive for 1967 and on.

  • ur goin to wreck that pretty car man, 55 mph is cadi speed .

  • do you have any pictures of how you reinforced teh cross memebr and notched it? i am doign a 500 in a 59 convertible i am building and would lov e to see how you got pass trh oil pump issue. thanx

    btw, that car is bitchin!!!!

  • Love it and sounds like it runs like a beast.I am,however,curious...The '70 Eldorado ran on the same Unified Power plant Package as the Toronado (albeit at larger displacements) and were offered only as front wheel drive.Did you just swap the TMH425 for a later TH400 or were there more extensive mods to get the power to the rear?

  • my 70 coupe deville has a 472, they didn't have 500s did they??

  • @clutchac

The 1970 Eldorado had 500s. I have a 1970 Deville convertible and it too has the 472.

  • @clutchac

    not til 75

  • Man that 500 sounds great!!

  • 501!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that is so sweeet!!!

  • I LOVE th 59 Caddi... Re minds me of the montgomery gentry song "Gone"

Gone like a 59 Cadillac and all the good things that aint ever comin back...

  • i was wondering when they where going to remake "das Boat"...nice rig!!

  • Hell Yeah!

  • That is class! what a street beast!!!

  • man i want a eldo like that nice

  • Wow, this has to be the coolest Caddy I've ever seen.

  • I have an extra rear axle I was going to get rid of but ,decided to keep it after driving it for the first time

  • Nice man, drive it like ya stole it. Bet that heavy beast is hell on a rear diff doin power slides etc tho. o well, its all replaceable.

  • I absolutely love this! The only way to travel IS Cadillac style! :)

  • sweet cad

  • MAN! Sweet. I don't want to do this to mine, but it's nice to see one of these beasts haul ass once in a while. :)

  • My grandfather never drove his Cadillac like that !! xD

  • That thing sounds bloody scary. I love it.

  • beautiful, i am a huge fan of the 472/500 motors

  • very nice car... thank you for film it

    cheers!

  • hey..nice build..but how about a northstar engine? has that been done?

    regards..

  • @stonerumble i saw a cadillac (believe it was also a 59) that was featured in a summit catalog that had a northstar, also a beautiful car.

  • @stonerumble the northstar is a "grenade motor" like the 4100 and 4500 were, and are front drive and adddictided to the GM "Cadillac pills" aka coolant suppliment tablets. The old caddy big blocks were awesome, the only late model swap id do would be a 8.1 vortec or a duramax.

  • Beautiful!!! My jaw was on the floor the minute you fired her up

  • you are out of your mind! you have tint the windows and Cannonball that beast.

  • Excellent job on the cold air intakes. Looks like a very clean install.
