The legion has a proud history of kicking the fuck out of recruits for just about any reason and although I suspect it hasn't stopped becoming legally a part of the french army may have toned some of it down

It is NOT easy to join the U.S. military, at least not by historical standards... and you don't technically, have to be a U.S. Citizen or National (like Samoans), but you must be a legal immigrant (i.e. have a green card or refugee visa) , but you DO have to pass the physical... 25% or so of recruits are rejected for physical or other reasons (criminal records, very poor academic achievement or psych)

and what about tanks, elite infantry , as legionares are elite, erspecialy with support can easy engage a nd destroy the tank, even if it is a new model, generaly speaking for nowadays small scale batlefields with separeted centers of fight, the tank are still valuable, but slowly outmodelled weapon, too much money which can be destroyed quite easy, and btw what do you want , that paras will use leclercs in their drops, absurd

The legion has cooks too who used to be legionnaires, now fuck off. But it's usually a minimum of 2 years service before you are sent to do specialities like cooking, engineer, mechanic, etc.

in the end of basic training you will have one score, all the time in your basic training they will ask you to choise 3 regiments you will wish to go...but this decision is only valid when u left Castel and back to Aubagne, in a room with a Captain with the doors closed only you and him...you will tell him your decision and they will send you to one of this 3 regiments you choissed...( sorry, my english is very bad)

My guess would be the 1st Foreign Infantry Regiment. I think though, that the French Army is not the place to learn how to cook professionally. Army chow anywhere is different than civvy show.

Even if you don't speak one damn single word of french, you can join the Foreign Legion. Otherwise, this would not be "foreign" ;-)

The men who have passed the admission tests are taught basic french during boot camp. And those who don't speak french at all are "assigned" to perfectly french-speaking trainee.

both of it, if you are amings the five, ithink, best in basic training you can choose regiment, and if there is free spot then you are in, but a as far as i know in you cant choose company in regiment, at least at REP
