  • Wasn't he in chips in 1983?

    IS HIS ZIPPER DOWN?

  • He still had that sparkle in his eyes! Bless him

  • There will never be another one like him. Superb xxx RIP Phil, we love you

  • He gave the Cunninghams at the end the old Bilko march. I love it to see Bilko again.

  • Unfortunately, because Phil Silvers stole almost every scene he was in, he brused a few fragile egos of certain "star" performers who were not in his class, thus made it difficult for Silvers to get jobs

  • There are some people that you wish you could've seen perform, or met in person! For me, Phil Silvers is definately on of them.

  • Phil Silvers stole every scene he was ever in. He was a comedic genious and his timing has never been matched by anybody

  • The best! There'll never be another Phil Silvers. He also wrote Nancy With the Laughing Face for Sinatra's daughter- correct, fans?

  • You're absolutely right...Phil wrote the lyrics for the song and Jimmy Van Heusen wrote the music.

  • phil silvers was still GREAT!

  • What a performance, his timing is superb.

  • phil silvers rules!

  • Love The Phil Silvers

  • wow, imagine if they coulda snuck in joe e. ross and allan melvin in there somewhere

  • Phil Silvers, an outstanding comedian. This mans brand of comedy never goes out of fashion. R.I.P Phil

  • Sadly,This was Mr.Phil Silvers' last tv performance.

  • This wasn't Phil's last TV appearance...he appeared in AN EVENING AT THE IMPROV in 1982, CHIPS in 1983, HEY ABBOTT in 1983 and finally in a TV interview with Sonny Fox in 1985!

  • Cathy silvers is my moms cousin. Ive known her scince I was a little kid.

  • Phil Silvers wife was somehow related to my ex husbands mother. There were lots of pictures of them in the family photograph album...but that was before Cathy came along. I never got to meet them. And the pictures were of their very early married life.

  • that's neat

  • Phil is absolutely brilliant in this! Good to see he still had it, My Mum, lovely person though she was didn't like Sgt Bilko, so when it was on in the 1980's me and my Dad used to sit in the kitchen and watch it on the portable TV. It was a black and white one, but of course that didn't matter!

  • phil silvers has been my hero since i was 10 yrs old and i'm 60 now. i have almost every single bilko show that he made, including the first and last one. my aunt worked at the billinham forum around '71 i think. phil was appearing in a show there and my aunt told him about me being a big fan etc. he said to come to the forum and he'd see me and talk with me. but this was my hero,my idol, and i chickened out cos i thought i would get tongue tied in his company. that's my biggest mistake/regret.

  • Cathy Silvers is a babe.

  • To each,his own.

  • Now we know what happened to Master Sergeant Ernie Bilko. He moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and changed his name to Roscoe Piccolo. :-D Phil Silvers never lost "it".

  • that can't be bilko, he was ready and willing to give cunningham money

  • @ifeelallright

Only so he can collect twice the loaned amount in interest. You know how Bilko always did favors which he later cashed in on at convenient moments.

  • I remember seeing this back in the 80's. Phil still had it. A great comedian!

  • It's Mick indeed. Yeah Phil was very proud of this appearance. There was talk at one time of making Phil's character a semi-regular but sadly it never happened.

  • That's got to be Mick Clews from Pebble Mill. Thanks for putting up this clip of a true great. Phil Silvers with his daughter. I understand he was very proud of this appearance.
