  • great soundtrack, remebering the scene in the movie when Kyle Reese almost killed 59 people in the club, and nearly 200 on the way to the club ??? :-)

  • Introducing the only good sega CD game.

  • Thanks, now I don't have to spend 30 bucks for this game on ebay. Awesome speed run, thanks for the memories.

  • This looks fucking awesome to be quite honest. The music rules.

  • with sonic cd coming out for ps3 network and xbox 260 arcade hopefully this game does too!!!!!

  • i got this game for $25

  • tommy tallarico never failed to disappoint when it comes to video game music. look at earthworm jim 2

  • Yee! badass Music!!

  • Loved that game! Makes me wanna hook up my Sega CD.

  • Awesome Music

  • BTW the lvl 2 music is THE FUCKING BEST!

  • I used to play this a lot as a kid. Brings back lots of memories of sitting in the basement at 2am in the summer with a 12pack of pepsi, a couple totinos party pizzas, and 3-4 of my good friends that I still hang with 15 years later (god i feel old now). AND HELL YES THE SOUNDTRACK ROCKS!!! Sometimes I used to run the cd-player program on the SegaCD with this game in the drive and put it on repeat while I drew/did homework. Thanks OP for the trip down nostalgia lane!!

  • Much, much better than the genesis version

  • It has the Terminator theme as well as some great original music of it's own.

  • @JReed1985 GOD, it's that fuckin' awesome!!! It's a little better than the NES version, don't you think?

  • @ProManUnitedFan lol the AVGN references are becoming so popular in all the game walkthroughs on Youtube where he's reviewed the games themselves.

  • My favorite Terminator game. I wish it has a sequel like itself and I wish there are too many good games based on films like this one.

  • I wanna trade in Black Ops for this lol

  • NES version suked ass

  • this is for sega cd i dont think they sell a sega genisis and a sega cd anymore

  • @lbpfan411 you can get it for an emulator called gens+ for free, just gotta know where to look.

  • What's funny in the Tech-Noir level is that the bartender never gets killed in all that carnage. That's what Cheech Marin thought in From Dusk Til Dawn LOL

  • Christ, this must be the best Terminator game ever. And I haven't played it!

  • For anyone wondering this is a 100% ORIGINAL version, the Genesis game was totally different...

  • So many punks trying to kill Reese there must have been some sort of concert on in the area XD and i love the 80's style music on that level reminds me of the anime Bubblegum Crisis

  • It's a little better than the NES version, don't you think?

  • @ProManUnitedFan

    You're right! :D

  • Lol :D jumped over 90% of the enemys

  • i wish there was a place u could download this game

  • The music on this is awesome!!

  • Great Soundtrack!

  • haha the music in the tech noir xD cyborg!! robot haha

  • I have this game with its original jewel case and booklet but no Sega CD system to play it on! :*(

  • @nuke97 Download a segaCD emulator, maybe it will let you use your CDs. I had a PLatstation emulator, and I could use either isos or an actual PS1 CD.

  • @Niko1Linni Thanks for the tip! I'm going to try that out.

  • i hated the music in the game, it sounded like a 'look what sega cd can do' tech demo. game was fun but repetitive. really nice graphics at the time

  • It's a bit cliche'd, but you make this looks so damn easy!

  • You can see where the Robocop vs Terminator game engine came from.......

  • who do u play as is this game kyle or the terminator

  • @TTBurger88 Kyle

  • This game has some badass Music!!!

  • I think I'm finally going to buy a Sega CD because of seeing this.

  • Yeah Tommy Tallarico!

  • I love the music that starts during the Skynet level. Reminds me of melodic/progressive metal that bands like Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Evergrey, or Dream Theater would create. Even though the music in T1 and T2 will always be epic and special, somehow I'd love if they use music like the Skynet level to create tension, emotion, and beauty at the same time if that makes sense.

  • 1:30 = Completely kick ass music.

  • Tommy Tallarico soundtrack?

  • The music in this is friggan amazing :D

  • A little better than the NES version isn't it

  • This was my favourite game when i was like 6 years old lol

  • good work

    sega number one

  • 7:15 happy killing music

  • Terminator guns! *pew! pew! pew!*

  • the music in the technoir level is fucking awesome

  • your using tas

  • This game was badass. I beat it numerous times. The music is kickass the whole way through

  • incredible music

  • it looks like contra

  • Tech-noir is the best level.

  • I want to play this game :D

  • wow you sure know how to play this game kick ass gameplay!

  • The street punks seem to be just as durable as the robot endoskeletons..

  • why did they call it cd? and where the f is the nintendo, first person shooter?I never had the time or the skills to finish the first goddamn level???

  • Damn you made this game your bitch o:

  • damn u kick ass at this game. The avgn needs to take some lessons from u

  • the music is pretty cool! =P much like the '80s

  • AWESOME SOUNDTRACK!!!

  • pretty good game, let's see when I can play it, and damn you are fast

  • Great game!

  • Great game!

  • This one's my fave after Novastorm & Samurai Shodown CD, But to be fair, I prefer it a bit than Sonic CD too

  • i wanna get this game now!!!!

  • I guess this game was made before headshots meant anything

  • The music in this game is fucking AMAZING...

Never heard such good rock riffs in a side scrolling game.

  • like sonic cd

  • Fuck shit the music is awesome, it almost could be compared with the quality of the castlevania or the contra games!

  • The game sucks but the music is epic!

  • Great video!

  • Damn. I'm surprised how this game looks and sounds good.

  • when did kyle go around killing all of those people in the city, hes worse than the terminator

  • Gangsters who tried to kill him yah he's a bastard

  • @supermariojones well its a video game but ya know what I like the 2nd movie but the whole "I swear i wont kill nebody" just... grinds my gears!

  • Tommy Tallarico was the man! His music really kicked ass for Sega of America.

  • man, is that fucking awesome!

  • Damn, when did Kyle Reese become Ryu Hayabusa lol?

  • YOU, my friend, ARE A GOD - "favorited" this video. Good memories!

  • This guy must have run through this game countless times to be this good. I rented this game when it came out and loved it, especially the music.

  • Tommy Tallarico FTW!

  • If Had Sega, the Sega CD 1989 released as standart system (without megadrive). Would certainly be more successful than the super Nintendo. Great System but not enough good games

  • this game has amazing music. I'm surprised.

  • Just shoot the gun and you are going to hit an enemy. I guess I kind of miss these games.

  • Comment removed

  • That is the most rocking soundtrack ever, surpassed only by Brutal Legend.

  • Brutal Legend uses very good licensed music, but Terminator's soundtrack was original. That's why I think it gets more credit...

  • This looks like a really solid shooter. I enjoyed the Genesis version too.

  • If I knew about this back in the day. Fuck me, how awesome is this. Fuck, Sega failed advertising this because if they just showed gameplay footage like this , they would have won me over to buy the Sega CD. Fuck.

  • Holy Shit Dude

  • wow the graphic's are way much better than the cartridge version of the terminator

  • Even though the music can be catchy it's out of place. It's like sonic the hedgehog with firearms, it's a happy fun time.

  • @PopcornCoolie

agreed. awesome music but out of place.

it needs the original future war music from the movie and other similar dark, atmospheric music.

  • are there cut scenes in between levels

  • if only this were ported to ps1 or xbla... i'm not buying a SegaCD for this and emulation seems impossible, but this looks like an awesome side-scroller..

  • @toriyamaZ

Emulation is easy, get kega and the iso and run, you may need the bios as well.

  • @toriyamaZ

    emulation is extremely easy.

just get the kega emulator and get the 3 bios files(jap, usa, eu)

then download the iso of this game. if you want, i can upload all the files you need.

  • wow, the music sounds awesome

  • The Sega CD was an amazing idea music wise - if only it had been more successful - -

  • This game looks sweet and the soundtrack is awesome!

  • i am uploading this game but not a speed run

  • Nah, the Sega CD was a good idea. The only reason it didn't do so well is because most of the market simply screw it up by making FMVs rather than making games with killer soundtracks. Some of the best Sega CD games you'll find hardly used FMV.

The 32x was Sega's true first big mistake. The Sega Saturn as well as the Playstation and N64 were already on their way, so there was no point for that add on to even reach pass prototype stage.

  • I have definitely clocked more hours on my Sega CD than my Dreamcast.

  • you to? i loved the DC but now it's collecting dust,i got my sega cd with the genesis model 1.i still play it frequently, thats about old sega you pick it up once in a while.ohh and snatcher what a game i played it on pc engine and sega cd,the cd version is defnitly my favorite.the console could have ment something, okay it's like a beefed up genesis, but what is wrong with a genesis that could kill off a snes with games like gunstar, imagen how big could have been.

  • GOD LIIIIKKKKEEEE! OVERKILL!!!!!

  • Tommy Tallarico is a god... music is so awesome.. awesome game too.

  • If you mean this is the only good game based solely on the first film, then yes, you are right.

  • lmao KYLE REESE!! THE FIRST MAIN CHARACTER IN THE HISTORY OF THE TERMINATOR VIDEO GAMES

  • Let me guess... you've played this alot!

  • Does anybody know any good Sega CD emulators?

  • Wow, some of the music could fit right in a mega man game.

  • Best Terminator game, along with Terminator: Future Shock on DOS.

  • I would also say RoboCop vs The Terminator despite the RoboCop universe merging. You still have to fight Skynet, and even go to the Terminator future to finish it off.

  • Who is Reese shooting when he arrives in 1984?

  • i remember this game

  • This music is WAY too awesome for THIS game! It's not dark enough to be something of Terminator, though. Use or misuse, the composer is a genius!..

  • Thats Tommy Talarico bro. I have the soundtrack for this game. Best 2D game ever

  • how do you get the soundtrack?

  • Music is fuckin awesome, especcialy on first two levels.

  • Looks like this game pioneered a few Terminator ideas that were used in later movies and games: the Mini HK's, the spider bots. I even think that's a T-1000 in the in the Skynet tanks, but this game was made after T2. This looked like the only decent Sega CD game.

  • How many Sega CD games have you played to make that assumption? The Sega CD had quite a few good games.

  • @talbot1939 I KNOW!

  • Such a cool game

  • SOOO EPIC!!

  • @talbot1939 anny good other sega cd games with good music one `?

    i think i should buy one ^^

  • Then you haven't played snatcher. One of the best games ever.

  • Best of all is that Snatcher also features Terminator-like baddies in its own.

  • @steveperryisgod

You should branch out a little more.

    SMCD had many good games.

  • The BGM is awesome!

  • why would the local gangers wanna kill kyle reese. and why are there so many of 'em.

  • man this game is very well made!! after all the screws up on the nes and snes, they finally got it right, it has great music, but it dosnt fit the game :( ,

  • the first song does but the other ones are kinda wierd, definetly awesome music tho xD i still listen to those tracks today

  • Stage 5 (the second 1984 stage) was hilarious for some reason. The up-beat 80's music and I remember ending the stage by posing infront of that flag in the moonlight. THAT was sooo awsome being able to do that!

  • Oh wow, I remember when I got this. As my upbringing was somewhat low income we only got the SegaCD stuff when eBay came out (and by then these sort of games were inifinitely cheaper in the wake of N64, I still remember the December news reporting fist-fights and stampedes over that and Tickle-Me-Elmo).

The music was some of the best I ever heard. This, Racing Aces, Stellar Fire (awsome music again) and the 32X Doom and MetalHead makes me think of Middleschool and the end of my childhood.

  • one fast ass shotgun

  • I wish they made a modern version of this!

  • Man, you blasted through level 1 so fast, it didn't get a chance to get to the best part of the soundtrack :P

  • Agreed! That track sounds like it got lifted off one of the Mega Max X games.

  • that was the great thing about cd based games: real music.

  • Nice gameplay.

  • Thats some sick gameplay!

    *thumbs up*

    P.S.

    The sound tracks rocks!!!!

  • The soundtrack indeed does rock. Love the tracks makes you want to play the game even more and pump the metal with plasma lol. Im still trying to find the mp3s for the tracks I want them.

  • Yeah, sound track is indeedly awesome how ever unfortunately game itself doesn't do much justice for it. Especially all of these silly sound effects wich sounds like "blob blob blob" and "bliu bliu bliu"

  • The Galbadia Hotel website has the MP3s.

  • There was another Terminator game where you were wearing a trench coat and had a shotty.

I'm sure that was on Megadrive

  • Yep, that was the original developed by Probe who did a lot of movie tie in games for consoles such as Alien 3 for the SNES and Genesis/Megadrive.

While at the time it looked okay, the fact that the game was so short really frustrated people.

Virgin developed this game in house when they were still a developer, I think this same team later also did Robocop VS The Terminator for the Genesis/Megadrive as some sprites seem to be the same.

  • The movie material is rather bad, even back then.

Perhaps if they could have replaced those with animated still scenes or something, they could have rereleased this game on the GBA.

I would have liked it if they changed small things though like the layout of some levels which really don't make much sense and that you see the Reese character yielding different guns and not the reuse of the same sprite for all the weapons.

  • The development team for both this game and RoboCop vs The Terminator (Mega Drive version) was Virgin Games USA.

  • Yeah, I sort of confirmed that myself with my earlier posts to this movie.

  • This game always had some great music; I used to keep the game CD just to play the music.

  • love the ominous clouds

  • wow this looks like a great game. Here and I thought all they did was update the graphics and music from the geny original, boy was I wrong!

  • Sweet, we get the best of 80's thrash metal AND 80's techno!?

  • This game is just awesome - got it on a garage sale for 2 euros (only the disc in a slim case), popped it in my pc, ran kega fusion and - tadaaa - played it for hours. So much better than the genesis / md version. Have the Soundtrack on my mp3player. Sega - hail to the king baby!

  • amazing skills!!!!

  • wow this looks great. See why couldn't the nes have gotten a good rendition of terminator like this? So dumb how the nes's is so bad.

  • This game actually started out as a Sega Genesis game. Then they decided to remake it for the Sega CD, they remade everything, the graphics, the music, added new levels, modified gameplay to be a lot better.

  • Because Virgin never cared to develope a Terminator game for the NES. You had Mindscape and Acclaim there doing their own Terminator games.

  • Nice. Looks to me like the only decent Terminator game that was ever made (second place would go to Redemption, but thats it).

  • Second place should to go "Terminator 2: The Arcade Game" imo. And if you count "RoboCop vs The Terminator" as a Terminator game, then this one should be tied with "The Terminator" for Mega CD.

  • nice music, but a little misplaced

  • The music is awesome

  • The music is very kick butt man.. geez make me wanna go download it lol...which i will.

  • the most dangerous vision of los angles i have ever seen. i thought the gang war between the crips and bloods were bad enough. this punk rock gang is scary.
