That's just the way English Bulldogs play. Actually this is very mild play, too. Our bully plays with a 3 foot section of 1 inch diameter rope. He sounds like he going to kill, but he's just playing. You can even pick him off the ground (all 4 feet) and he hangs on with his teeth while growling continuously - HE'S PLAYING.
0:18 is the exact same noise they use in most monster movies.
