Wow the Ford boys get this new 5.0 (which is a sick motor) and they are bashing the camaro and GM "fanboys". Let's not forget that the lt1 & ls1 camaros have been beating some stangs up for awhile. The point I was trying to make in the last post was that some of these comments are so extremely bias, crazy, and unsupported it's ridiculous. The Camaro SS and the new mustang gt are officially separated by like .3 sec 0-60. The driver of the Camaro obviously was a worse driver than the one in the mustang. Either way, while I'm a GM man myself, I think Ford and GM put out some of the greatest performing cars for the money and respect both of their vehicles. I wish others wouldn't be so blind.

@wsimpson86 Not in the newer Mustangs mate. The launch control in Mustangs is pretty top notch I own two of them and and the computer control handles alot of it for you. So, while that statement is true of pre 2010 Mustangs it's not true for the newer one's at all.

The 412BHP rating is way to low. With just a CAI and Axle back I put down 401 RWHP. That is about 470BHP. I have the video on my youtube channel when I did it. The two mods helped and I wish I base lined it, but it was not almost a 60BHP gain. The weight sure doesn't help the camaro either.
@88soulsurvivor MT did dyno the GT and got a 373 horsepower number at the wheels. The problem with MT is they're so stupid they don't even know what parasitic loss figure to use for a solid(live) rear axle. The 435 HP number they got is skewed because they're correcting to 15% loss, when they should be correcting to about 11%..which would be about 414 at the crank.
The Coyote is accurately rated (over rated for autos) for the most part. The thing is the 5.0's aren't very consistent.

Mustang is going to be the big boy on the block, at least until the next gen Camaro comes out. This gen Camaro is too heavy. The next gen will be using GM's Alpha platform, which will be lighter and nimbler--it will also be used for the CTS-V and is capable of AWD, not that they're going to give either AWD. ^_~

The 412BHP rating is way to low. With just a CAI and Axle back I put down 401 RWHP. That is about 470BHP. I have the video on my youtube channel when I did it. The two mods helped and I wish I base lined it, but it was not almost a 60BHP gain. The weight sure doesn't help the camaro either.

@88soulsurvivor MT did dyno the GT and got a 373 horsepower number at the wheels. The problem with MT is they're so stupid they don't even know what parasitic loss figure to use for a solid(live) rear axle. The 435 HP number they got is skewed because they're correcting to 15% loss, when they should be correcting to about 11%..which would be about 414 at the crank.
The Coyote is accurately rated (over rated for autos) for the most part. The thing is the 5.0's aren't very consistent.

I love all muscles cars, but I'd still take a Camaro SS over a Mustang GT. Reason: vanity; I think the Camaro looks sexxxier. ^_~
Mustang is going to be the big boy on the block, at least until the next gen Camaro comes out. This gen Camaro is too heavy. The next gen will be using GM's Alpha platform, which will be lighter and nimbler--it will also be used for the CTS-V and is capable of AWD, not that they're going to give either AWD. ^_~

@darksamurai73 The pre-2011 mustang GT with 315 hp never stood a chance against the 412 hp camaro SS..... The cam SS runs over 109 mph in the 1/4 whereas the 2010 Stang GT ran 103 mph... BIG difference... Now they're about the same in speed at around 109-111 mph, which is also as fast as the 1994 vette ZR1
