Trading Pokemon on an Emulator

when i try to use it to trade between pokemon blue and emerald but it wont open the emerald game any idea how to get past this?

I'm getting REALLY frustrated here... When I load up the first file in TGB it works fine and allows me to "continue" with the save I exported from VBA... but every single type I load up the 2nd game in TGB it always just says "new game" and continue is never shown... I changed the file type to an sa2 and it still does nothing as if the save isnt even there.... WTF! I've been working at this for hours!

a couple hints for u guys, if wont load sav and sa2 files, when u close the tgb dual at that point it usually leaves a another newly made save file, make sure your save file is written exactly the same as that one. if its not change it so it will be, then try again it should load it this time. also dont make they key mappings the same for both loads. this will make it more difficult. and another thing extract files, dont leave them in zip format, u will get that wierd msg with all those letters.

when i save it into the TGBdual there is no save or media file just devices, docs ,translation source, english version readme and the actual tgb emulator. but where is save and media help ??

@Billyslfc if you don't have these folders you can always make them and it should work fine. I haven't really spent a lot of time using TGBDual other than for this, but i'm sure somewhere in the emulator's preferences you can choose the location of the save files.

@LinktoSonic sorry, i usually check the comments on my vids like once a month (and i only saw this one because i accidentally clicked on the email notification instead of deleting it). When you say 'importing roms', you should be importing the save files (the .sav files), leave the roms unchanged and just copy them over. if that's not the problem message me and i can try to help work it out

@v0id19 I keep doing exactly what you're saying but it still doesn't work. The retarded TGB still won't open the ROM. I don't know what's wrong, but I'm really starting to become frustrated.

@LinktoSonic If the problem is that it won't open the ROM, then i guess try a different one. That sounds like a problem with the ROM rather than the process. If it's not loading save, then make sure you're exporting the battery save and not a save state. If you're not using VBA to do this, it's worth trying using VBA since I know it works. It's possible that other emulators use a different .sav feature (but i doubt it)

@v0id19 Actually, what I was trying to do was export my Pokemon Crystal data from my VBA to TGB Dual so I can trade and evolve my Pokemon, but that isn't working out too well...

ok, well i followed exactly what you said. i went through and went to the pokemon center. only problem is the first screen says the usual " apply here, you need to save... blah blah blah" while its saying that the other screen is saying " we are making preparations please wait." the the first screen says "the connection was disconnected due to inactivity" what do i do?
