@thecowside got my vmax about 2 months ago. haven't put it to it's limits in the turns yet and haven't noticed any issues. depends on what you're use to. high center of gravity bike/low center of gravity bike. it's about ln the middle. it's not going to corner like a gsxr but doesn't take 12 miles to turn like a boeing747/harley

I owned the pre-ban v-max (86)which was claimed to pull harder than the newer ones. Correct me but I believe it had 17 more hp. This thing was a scary ride. If I wasn't pulling the front wheel at 70mph I was smoking the back one at the same speed!

in 85 the exhaust didnt meet epa regulations. in 86 they corrected the exhaust problem but increased the size of the vboost valves from there on out.

i own a 2007 vmax it's great! i did own a v65magna. comparing both vmax and v65 and i doubt the vmax will leave the magna behind. the magna would never stop accelerating. the power kept on building. but i like the vmax. it's potent and a legend. but i like the magna too. it was the first power cruiser before the vmax.

Stop hatin! If you think your bike is better, great, go ride it and leave other people's alone. Not everyone wants to own a sportbike, some of us like the one of a kind look and feel of the VMax. Who cares if a Busa or any other bike can outrun and out-corner it. Don't you think we knew that when buying our Maxes? If you're riding anything faster than what a VMax can do, buy a life insurance policy. I've never been on my Vmax and complained about a lack of speed.

I have whupped many Honda v65 variants up to 100mph.except top speed on a kz 750 ,but my max is way quicker than the kz plus the experience on a max beast beats them all in all senses of perception!!!of all bike it is the "must ride" of all time!!!unless it is a boss hoss.

I love the vmax, and I have riden one too! I own a v65 sabre and there is no way you "whupped" one in a strait line excepet the driver being 100yrs old and not liking to run the bike past 5,000rpm when the red line is 10,000rpm's! I can ride with a vmax all day long and win and lose but never "whupped"

actually the fellows were in there early 20s one a sabre the other a magna ,he wanted me to buy his bike.if he beat my bike up a very steep long hill in alaska I would buy his bike after the 5th chance he sheepishly went away claiming his was faster in the top end!! heh heh that was on a kaw kz750 `81 it left him half way up the hill!! now that was a great way to race ...up a very long steep hill ,I was finally whupped by a max ,now I own it!!

You got to love the vmax, but the best bike is the original v4. The Honda V65 Sabre! It is the only reason Yamaha made the vmax! The sabre can run 0-60 in 3 seconds flat and a Quarter mile in 10.6 and has 6 gears I get 45mpg. It handles better because two cylinders are laid down to bring the center of gravity low. I have rode both, and the V65 Sabre is faster low-end and real strong top end. Feels like the vboost all the way to the redline. I like both just the sabre better! Nice bike!!

My ZX14 will leave my own Max for dead, and most other bikes as well.

But, to be honest, the Max still gets a lot of my riding time 'cause it sounds So F'ing Psyck with those SuperTrapps...bad asssssss! And from red light to red light I prefer the Max... nobody cuts off a VMax in first gear... the 600's are still doing wheelies in my mirror.

lovely v-4 noise...suppose my bandit (1200) will only do 3.3 at the 0-60 but claims to have 0-100 in 6.1 secs? can't measure it myself but the R1/fireblade/busa/fazer 1000 will have me for breakfast. R6 however I can eat in a straight line. love bikes! You know I had Bonneville 2002, it can stay in front of a bmw m3 from the lights (just)!! hahaha

definitely a fast cruiser, but I'd put money on my zx9r outrunning it. I don't know about that 2.8 0 to 60 mph. I've seen articles where liter bikes are doing low 3's and others that had a gsxr600 doing 2.9. Hard to say.

Well the stock vmax is supposed to do 0-60 in 2.8 sec. I heard on Top gear that the R1 will do it in 3.2, but that may be a detuned european model? That's only straight line. Any crotch rocket will outrun my beefed vmax on curves.
