Are you saying that the bible has not been edited at any point?
That what we have now is 100% exactly what was originally written by the original authors?
P.S. I am not speaking about language, as such, obviously a bible in english is different than a bible in classical greek but I refer to the content of the bible not the language it is recorded in.
While I certainly will not make a comment referring to anyone as a christian douchebag, at least not here (:D), I would like to raise what I believe is a salient point :
You highlight that an atheist would not have prayed with the victim : absolutely, I would think that is incredibly obvious. I find it interesting that you single out atheists though, since I would suggest that many or most criminals in the U.S. are christians, and most of them also would not have prayed.
And that many, most, or all criminals in the U.S. of non-christian beliefs would also not have prayed with her, regardless of their belief or lack thereof.
How many criminals in the U.S. are atheist?
The statistics tend to suggest not many, indeed barely a few.
So should we then take it that being christian leads to being criminal? Of course not.
Any more than we should take a criminal praying with their victim as an indictment of anything other than that criminal's intelligence.
Also I should mention, on the matter of the number of atheists who are criminals, that statistically speaking there is a lower % of atheists who are criminals that there is % of atheists in the population.
Again, though, I want to highlight that I do not believe, and am in no way suggesting, that being religious of any faith makes you more inclined to criminal behaviour. I think to suggest this would be irrational, and blatantly stupid, and I would like to think I am neither.
I, thank God Im a Christian, because if you knew me before, you would be glad Im trying to be one too. And really, don't care weather you believe me or not, thats not why I posted here, like I said; its totally up to you, which way you go. By the way, while you are telling me not to voice my opinion you need to read your own misleading fact concerning reading the Bible. Be woman enough or man enough to allow someone else opinion, being the fact that you posted your thoughts openly.
I meant to say you can have whichever opinion you want but don't go around acting as if you know "the truth". I say I don't know what there is after death for example, but I highly doubt there's something like heaven cause imo it's just made up by people few k years ago to get the hopes up. And bibles being rewritten etc is not a misleading fact.
The bible says heaven and hell is real, and I believe it. I will say that if heaven was like what I experience and dream as a small child on an operation table where I was pronounce dead until resuscitated, then, that is where I hope my spirit goes when I leave this earth.
Whatever, Just remember your clock is slowing it's tic down. you getting older everyday, and that is not a fairytale, that's a fact. Get it Right. Peace
Jup and the day I die I won't be afraid of anything. Because my blood won't pump through my brain anymore which will cause me to die. And since brain activity is dead there won't be anything, just like before I was born. Or that's what I believe and what science believes.
TO slamt08: I'm one who really understands long-term suffering. Please trust me when I tell you, that God change me, he truly did. I can understand some of his pain, especially reaching out for help to anyone. I'm one whos thankful God change me, because there was a time in my life, I wasn't too pleasant to talk to or just be around.
and no I dont have to say to people what religion I follow because where I live people simply do not care (netherlands). On the bible editing part, just check wikipedia or anything. The original manuscripts written by the Greeks in the early christian time have been edited based on region and whoever copied them and what those copiers believed. What the bible now is probably (noone is sure) a mix of several different versions.
That's when you're ill-informed to the conspiracy behind all the versions. Most of the modern versions are based off of corrupt manuscripts, and the KJV is based on the Textus Receptus which represents 95% of all known manuscripts.
Don't deceive yourself because you haven't a clue to how the Devil works... He can use information such as what you propagated on here as a tool to deceive.
I don't believe in god nor in any other religion. Also, I find it kind of "dumb" when people really think there is a devil etc. The bible is a good book, it has a lot of good ethic stories in it. When you read it you shouldn't take it too literally but just take the lessons thats in them out of it and forget the fairytale stuff.
I'm the type of person to put reality out there, and the reality is,you don't know if God exist or not or if the bible is meant to be taking literally or not. So you can't tell people that, because as humans,we can't know it all. With that said,"dumb" not really appropriate in this case.
There are many idol Gods (whatever you are idolizing) but please allow me to explain to you that we are living in a spiritual world here. All you have to do is feel the environment and the watch the actions happening around you. It just happened he (the robber) allowed the spirit of the highest God to come in his heart. Yes, its true; there is a Heavenly Godly Spirit and an Evil Spirit ruling this world and its actions. He did inform us (The Bible) of the outcome of our actions good or bad.
because christians never murder or what hahah? you're so full of shit dude :P. I actually went to church today with my girlfriend since she's catholic and didnt feel like going alone. The preacher was talking about the story of bartimeus the blind dude. Seriously if you want to believe that jesus just gave a blind guy sight in a second please do so, but imo believing that is rather retarded. ps. my gf doesnt want to go to church but she has to because of her father, kinda shit aye?
People just don't want to be held accountable for their actions, so they'd rather deny the fact that there is a God, so that they don't have to submit to a higher power. The wierd thing is, people would rathe gamble this manner....
"If Christians are wrong, then there is no Hell, no judgment, etc...=nothing lost, nobody hurt.
"If Christians are right, then judgment/hell is true, and one finds out after they pass into the next life when it's too late."
dude. im christian, and you shouldnt just say that about athiests. Its just ignorant to assume that none of them have values. Most of them have to work very hard to get to their point of belief. believing in nothing is not easy.
lol when i read all these comments I feel so sorry for the people with common sense who live in the US. Retarded people claiming god didnt stop him because of some reason, and other people saying jesus christ protected the woman. Seriously.. get a fucking clue.
yeah in desperate situations people rob stuff , its the monetary system we live in , the bible supports the system , gold and silver , we need to remove rich and poor from society , we all should be equal
there is no god needed to be able to think up someone who robs a bank doesn't do it for fun but because he thinks he has no other option. The robber sees the woman is terrified and comforts her, that she was praying doesn't change that this was just basic ethics. Uncommon situation for basic ethics but ethics non the less. Anyways, he could aswell just looked for a Job, everybody can work at MCdonalds. Some people are just too lazy for it, but if you have no other option its better than stealing
oh, so you think I actually give a fuck what some book says that has been edited over and over again by individuals with medieval opinions and thoughts :P? Guess what, I don't. Sure the bible may have some okay stories in it when it comes down to morals and such but most people shouldn't need that. Because it's all over tv etc anyways. People who believe being christian makes them ethics whise a better person should do so. But people who believe in all the fairytale magic etc are plain retarded.
what did the prayer accomplish? It demonstrated that even in his lowest moment, he wasn't a "monster" - he was still a human who could be shown mercy and love even by his own victim. What if that hadn't happened? She would probably panic and scream, he'd just be left feeling hateful of himself and society. Instead, she gave and allowed him to take w/o guarantee that she'd get anything back. Now that she knows his story and his intentions, she'll also probably let the charges be dropped.
Even if he went to jail, at least now he has a different view of the world and life - if he changes, his son will have someone to look up to rather than hate or blame. More than anything, he now knows he can reach out to ask for a hand to help because there are people who are willing. Even in the same circumstance, he'll now know there's another option. THAT's why God didn't stop him - GOD has something better to offer than just an empty momentary freebie:relationship. I'll pray for yours.
Your use of the word "probably" is a lame way to state your case. Lets base the argument on fact. not "probable" things that we dont know for sure would have happened.
The prayer did nothing more but make him feel regret...yet he still stole breaking a commandment. So apparently the regret wore off pretty fast. He isnt a monster because he didnt kill her, yet he is still a criminal because he stole using a gun.( armed robbery)
Here's one of the rare instances where prayer actually DOES potentially save lives, if only by distracting the robber, and convincing him to turn himself in.
Hopefully when he gets out of prison, he'll actually do whatever it takes to become a productive member of society and not try to rob people's houses again.
Maybe a rare instance in your life and experiences. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the redeemer of sin. Ask him to come into your heart and your life will change. That woman has protection not luck.
Whoever placed this video up; thank u. As I preach thru vocal witness`n, love is what we need. There may not b hope 4 all mankind but if 1 person can b reached, it makes the whole experience worthwhile. . . ~K.D. Brosia
That is the power of Jesus Christ and prayer. That is a story worth telling and my God always get the praise and glory. I do pray the robber was sincere in coming to Christ and turns his life around and become a power witness for Christ. Praise the Lord.
I guess he remembered that in the end we all have to answer to the Highest Court. It's a shame that he made such a rotten choice. Perhaps he was sincere....At any rate, he must at the very least be a believer. The would-be victim may have changed his life for the better....I hope so.
Wish all robbers were like that...wish all robberies ended like that. Too bad he put himself in that situation but it goes to show that some people resort to doing things they may not want to do just to survive from one day to the next. Praise God for the little miracles. I believe this was one.
Only the love of Christ can lift the weight of conviction like it did for that dude.
P.S: why are so many atheists watching this? o.o
