The engine of the first Rock Band is very broken on talkie parts.

The second one is better, although the talkie parts are nailed by just leaving the mic anywhere and with a certain level of sensibility. :P

I've actually gotten talkies to register reliably on RB1. I have had significant problems with TKAR (Band) and one other song, but Sabotage, Timmy, those are simple to me. I just have to talk slightly before the talky hits me. It just seems like the hit window for them was a little bit off.
