I kind of use an eyebrow razor to shave extra hairs off. Is that bad? Also, you used that pencil to find out where the arch of your eyebrow should be. I don't think that plucking is entirely too painful. It hurts, yeah, but you just have to do it quickly and not be afraid.

Never use ice to 'numb' your eyebrows. People mistake ice with hot towels. Ice closes the pores with tightens the skin making it more painful to pluck. Steaming your brow area will open the pores and you get a better grip on the hair.

I have longer eyebrow hairs that i got from my dad. their also bushy, so the beginning part really helped, but then i saw the part for guys and i'm scared to trim them like the guys because their also THIN! @lyneajessica If your brows are thin and long you have 2 options! You can trim them to stay in place and use an eyebrow filler like eyeshadow or an eyebrow pencil to define them. Just lightly shade in your brows and VIOLA...

Or you could not trim them and invest in some clear mascara (runs about $2 at your local drugstore). Comb your brows with the clear mascara and let it set. They will stay in place all day.

@spongebob1227 If your eyebrows natural shape is straight, embrace their natural beauty and only pluck strays to help define them more.

If you are looking to alter their shape follow the guidelines in the video with the pencil trick. If that makes you nervous or uneasy go to a nearby salon and have a professional arch them for you. Then you can just pluck strays for upkeep.

@Ray367 Thick eyebrows are beautiful and highly coveted by anyone who has naturally thin brows. The size of your brow is totally up to you. However, I would only pluck beneath the brow. Never from the top down. Take it easy and pluck slowly. Stop when you are satisfied with the result. Plucking huge chunks or waxing down to a small patch will only end in heartache and take weeks to grow back.

@Ray367 If you are really scared or hesitant to pluck yourself, go to a salon and have them professionally shaped. Then you can just pluck for upkeep. You can also purchase a stencil from your local drugstore for the shape you desire, they are inexpensive and simple to use.

I have a few small hairs between my 2 eyebrows which I always didn't like. I am afraid that if I pluck them I might encourage their growth. If you pluck them by the root does this mean they won't grow back, because I don't want it to look like a shaven area?

The hair will grow back, but unlike shaving, the edges will be softer and less coarse looking, making it easier to maintain your beautiful brows. Plus the benefit of plucking and waxing is that eventually you halt or slow the growth of new hair in the same follicle over time, resulting in finer hair growth. Hooray for plucking!!

@1091Floyd21 Hair never grows back thicker. What you think is a thicker hair is actually just a hair with a blunt end, from the result of shaving. Plucking lasts longer than shaving and causes the hair to grow back without a blunt end. So they may be less noticeable. I myself would go ahead and pluck or wax. If you are hesitant just pluck a few and see how they grow back for you. Good luck!!!

@ZapposHowTo thats what im doing just plucking a couple, this is my first time and im only like well almost 13 so thats why. does it like bad when it starts to grow bad and you have to wait for it to get long enough to pluck again? oh and i would never shave my eyebrows bad idea it looks bad when it comes back all those spots of hair, and you would have to do it like every other day. Also how long does it take for it to grow well i mean just starting to see it grow?
