Please provide the physics of how this product is superior to the steam turbines or hydroelectric turbines that already exist. By the way, what kind of power output is needed for the steam/air/water ...when this 'turbine' is under load, its going to be harder to turn, thus you will most likely fall on your face and realize just how in-efficient it really is.
I think if you try to pull any load, your turbine will stop running at that low pressure. What good is this turbine spinning, without producing any output? Its a waste of energy! The energy need to compress the air, makes it even less efficient!
@CaveManLabs Even with what you've noted, this is about 20% (from most setups) more efficient than more common bladed turbines. The idea behind it is not to apply a direct load to the shaft, but rather convert to electrical energy via a generator, which will then produce your work via a motor, electromagnet, or what have you. Tesla cited efficiency ratings upwards of 70%, but that was with water, and we are still trying to reproduce his results.
Je trouve votre réalisation superbe. Ou peut-on trouver les plans pour Répliquer votre travail. connaissez vous un forum en Français, car avec l'Anglais, ce n'est pas ma tasse de thé !
Thats a very nice turbine, too bad you only use the pressure to run it on idle...(remember its a jet turbine, not a waterwheel) I'd love to see this one if you crank up the pressure, give it some magnetic bearings that dont fail at high speed, and post a video where it shows f.ex.120.000 rpms. No Im not kidding, thats when it becomes efficient. one of the things that happened with the prototype of this diameter and bigger, is that the discs stretched out and started scraping the sides...
@happyfox711 I read about the failing at high rotational velocities- do you know if it was elongating equally along all axes or was it becoming oblong and throwing off the balance? I was thinking of a variably sized casing that can expand as extreme speeds are reached... not sure of the viability of it though.
So you need a Parabolic Solar Steam-Generator.. to power a turbine... so actually, it's your Parabolic Solar Steam-Generator that is the interesting part.
i also want to find out how much power output is expected of this size turbine, i see the rpm but can you please give me any idea of how much torque it can produce, or how much watt per hour are you designing for.
SVP jai vu la rpm de la turbine de tesla , cequi ma interress est combine la torsion il peut produit , aussi selon votre conception cet tubine dans la video peux generer combine des watts de puissence. merci bcp
Do you have plans for your complete solar setup drawn up yet? Also, what's your goal in kWh? That generator is HUGE and looks like it would produce over 10kWh with no sweat!! Is it going to be connected to a DC or AC motor/generator? Do you have a cooling stage setup and then a compressor running the steam back through the system (closed loop)?
FYI I'm planning on building a tesla turbine setup for my house but I'm getting ideas from others :) We should work together!
looking at an acrylite based model of the same thing with high pressure steam from parabolic oil to water. Should work if put in line. Cant wait to try. what is the torque like? are you going to have to put a transmission device on the end of it?
I am curious about why you used such a large opening for the exhaust at the center of the turbine. Are you expecting low steam pressure from the heliostat? I really like the coupling design between your turbine and the generator.
This looks fantastic - nice and big too - I am about to build a economy vehicle - do you think this Tesla turbine is more or less economical than a direct air injection piston engine with a short stroke and a large piston some thing like this
Nice machine, I have been machining a component stator and rotor with water jet cutting tech and yours looks on the right track! I would love to see the pressures your getting on steam from the solar.

For the poster- that looks great!

Your outlet holes are much too big. You need to decrease the size and number of the exit holes in order to increase the efficiency of the turbine.

How much output can be produced by this. If you have plans for magnetic generator here is my advice for you:
-- There is a review of the current Magnetic Generators in the market
--- Go to Google and search for Top Magnet Generator
---- and.. Click the first results

@ferdinand7004
enclosure could be built to specs out of acrylic sheeting with a aluminum diecast housing.
i do agree this could enhance the turbine a lot.
how much hp are you guys shooting for? this is abig turbine congrats to the smooth run could not see any vibration in the videos.

but a bigger piston and a shorter stroke and less air volume per cycle - thank you
