  • i can definitely land........and i'm 11..............i can in FSX, so why not a giant flight simulator?

  • my dad uses that program

  • I'm pulling up

  • its funny because the landing gear is the biggest and most obvious lever

  • @FroDude2005

    Not in an Airbus.

  • i can do it. :-) we have a museum locally that has the full blown flight simulators in it. they got fighter jets too. you can link up with others and dog fight and stuff. its 20 bucks an hour but its so worth it. :-)

  • Haha NASA uses FSX :P

  • @4thPlayerFilms Not maybe, how you can prove they are using FSX?

  • @6250valtra Well, since it's Nasa I would assume it's actually ESP, but if you look at 2:16, you can see the flashing red banner on the bottom left side that says "Paused", which is as far as I know a trait exclusive to MSFS (or ESP, if you prefer). Also the game engine is identical to FSX, that includes the environment and the ground textures. Even the graphics effects are the same. It's either Microsoft FSX or ESP (a more realistic, corporate/testing version of FSX).

  • 1:20 looking for the landing gears

  • I know where the landing gear is, and im 12 -_-

  • @rokyfox as the old saying goes, it's easy when you know how.

  • @rokyfox its not about age, my fella :) Smartness isnt measured by age.. my 70 year old grandpa doenst know how a plane flies. you know because you reserched about it :)

he didnt.. even a 3 year old baby can reseach that and who knows he'll learn!

  • @rokyfox Age doesn't really matter... I knew when I was 5... maybe cus my dad's a pilot, but anyway.. :P

  • Holly fuck it is micro$oft sim ;/

    What a shame

  • Landing gear is usually always next to the engine throttle by default in any airplane. Its a 10inch long stick, How can you miss it. It didnt surprize me that he failed, it surprized me how badly he failed.

  • a civilian can not land a plane...this mythbuster episode is dissapointing...they should set the record straight but they did not..

  • It's there Adam, for fucks sake!!! Gimme a chance to get into NASA simulator, pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase!!! :D :D :D

    Hiya simmers :D

  • i cant find the landing gear" its funny how we are all looking at it behind him =_=

  • THERE USEING FSX!!!!!!!

  • i want to try it

  • if im inside a real plane with them being the captain and co pilot about to crash,i will open the door, take my stuff, jump out of plane with my parachute..lol :D

  • OMG the landing gear its huge stick and above it says((LANDINGGEAR)) even if u blind u can fell something big in ur hand .lol

  • @carpfisherman25 ya your right if its downed four lights say LANDINGGEAR

  • pause at 2:16...that is microsoft flight simulator x!!

  • haha love how the plane goes tail up xD

  • This is like Google Earth Simulation to.

  • The rest of the instruments are useless. And forget about the small buttons and knobs, they are nit for landing!

  • @Tecwhizz got to love sim pilots. Actually for VFR you dont use the Artificial Horizon (blue and tan thing) much at all. That is for IFR to give you a horizon when you don't have one due to weather. You would also use quite a lot of other instruments, mainly the Alitimeter, Vertical speed indicator and the Airspeed indicator.

  • I know it's no their fault, but being a semi-educated sim pilot, I just get annoyed while watching this! For example, Adam used the rudder pedals during approach. NEVER DO THIS unless undertaking crosswind approach to straighten up on final. It can tear the plane apart. And the gear lever (Not button), that's the big pokey stick in the middle, Pull the lever, Pull Down. And finally, when using VFR, Look at the instrument with the blue and tan thing. Left is speed, right is altitude. The thing i

  • i like the boeing simulators because it has a yoke not a stick.

  • with propper knowledge of controls, that looks like fun =3

  • This is clearly not an airbus simulator.

  • this is a NASA simulator for a airbus.

    with reprogrammed GPWS callouts

its not a home made cockpit useing FSX

more than likley its Microsoft ESP, simmiler to FSX (it uses the same engine) but is more suited to flight schools my flight school uses one, only theres is for a cessna

  • @countryflyboy

right i recognize the side stick

  • The fucking quality, reason of using flight gear :D

  • i love flight sim i always wanted to play in one of those things

  • Looks like GTA.

  • Bad flight simulator.. Not really a realistic one...

  • Wow... Airbus aircraft with Boeing sound. haha

  • Some US airlines program the call outs to be similar to Boeing sounds.

  • Really? I think that's because the Airbus call outs are a little bit monochromatic? Haha. Maybe it's a little bit hard for some pilot to understand.

  • There are literally dozens of call outs for airlines to choose from. The factory airbus one doesn't sound like an American and the call outs themselves are slightly different. Pretty much for that reason, an Eastern European pilot might have less trouble hearing it with an English accent rather then a Mid-Western American one!

  • Yah. Haha.

  • I hav actually been on one of those and it is not $30 software. Everything u see on the screen is all real things and everything is placed where it is in the real world. I crashed everytime but then again I was like 7. I got to ride it because a friend of my dad who worked at the airport and worked with those machines owed my dad a favor. They are extremely realistic.

  • what season and episode

  • yea it looked like a real major flight simulator cockpit, but the software looked and sounded like flight sim X

I would not be surprzed if that is all it is a $30 piece of software connected to a $100,000 hydrolic box LMAO

  • i would land it perfectly i have all sims at hom and im beat at it

  • Me to I have done it so much I dont even bother with with trying to use the radio',s and dmi anymore I just eyeyball it and make the bot planes move out of my way!

  • he's flying in an actuall simulator, complete with hydraulic actuators that move the simulator around, according to the movement of the aircraft (banks, climbs, dives etc)

  • whata that? is he flzing a full flight simulator with hydraulics on? or a hommade cockpit with with FSX? or a full flight simulaot with FSX? I guess the last one is impossible.

  • Thank god for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

If These guys were going to fly actual aircraft, they'd be breaking more valuable things than Civil War swords.

  • I've flown in a thing like that before!

  • YA PROBABLY

  • although I wish it was real instead of a sim

  • lol was NASA using microsoft flight sim!?

  • yep thats FSX

  • yeah that program is so realistic that pilots can use it and get light time in

  • no...

  • mybe only the hooked it to there fancy plane cockpit thingy whatever they call it

  • i think its called a pilot training simulator

  • Yea, its mainly designed to train procedures not "stick and rudder" skill. It does do an OK job but its not like flying a real plane IMHO. However, its great for learning where all the switches are and see how you react in emergency situations (i.e. practice procedures).

  • ya i wa replying to a person who absolutly had no idea so i pretended to be dumb

  • @allenpilot omg they are using fsx!

  • @erickliu2661 i love fsx!!

  • @allenpilot thats not MSFS

  • @AMT4245 it is

  • @allenpilot Yes, it's FAA certified and the FAA helped make MFS

  • @allenpilot It wasn't a flight sim from microsoft

  • The only problem is that ATC personell don't have any flying experience. Very few are even licensed to fly small airplanes. You would have to find a NASA instructor somewhere in the country and have him talk you done. However, for sure, ATC isn't going to be able to help you fly the airplane.

    -Robert, CFII

  • man i sooooooooo wanna go in one of those simulators!!

  • i heard british airways will let you use one of their simulators

  • i love how one of them says 'I don't think I did so well' as the plane goes and crashes nose end up.That was freakin hilarious!Lol.

  • This would be fun but I hate airbus but if thats all I could fly in that thing I would those look fun

  • parking brake

    loooool

  • I can see landing with ATC help, it wouldn't be perfect, but it would be safe. There is no way that was a commercial airliner cockpit. I bet he could land a real B757 or an A330 sim without difficulty.

  • I can see landing with ATC help, it wouldn't be perfect, but it would be safe.

It would NOT be safe, in fact it would be highly unlikely. I think you have been watching too many Hollywood movies or perhaps you thought "Airplane / Flying High" was a real life documentary.

  • I grew up with airplanes and actually had a pilots license that I let lapse, oh well, and don't see what's so hard about flying a plane. As I said I've flown many simulators and could land em no sweat, but I say again that was NOT a commercial airliner cockpit, no airliner I know of has a sidestick, they're a yoke, almost like a steering wheel. It's Harder to oversteer a yoke than a stick.

  • Umm, airbuses have sidesticks.

  • Wow, I just noticed that, I thought all comercial jets had yokes.

Must be weird flying like that. Feels like you have more control with a yoke too (two hands.)

Also the a380 has a sidestick.

  • yes, i'd prefer flying with a yoke too. the stick just seems so flimsy, especially if an emergency occurs and the pilot has to manually override the fly-by-wire system.

  • You would think so. However, the first time I flew with a stick it was amazing because I didn't even think about it. The stick is so natural you don't notice the difference. It was later that it was pointed out to me that

  • i can't believe they landed it with air control's help. i didn't think it would be possible. and by the way i want to try that thing!

  • Possible if... like in mythbusters the ATC personnel guiding the aircraft is a NASA checkpilot, and he/she is current on the equipment (aircraft) that needs guidance, and also be able to verify the landing configuration of the aircraft (like the control panel in the simulator) which ATC does not have. Important also to note that all other traffic in the aerodrome will have to be rerouted to alternates.

  • ATC doesnt need much flying experience they are not the ones doing flying. ATC only needs communication skills because they are the ones directing traffic. Flying a plane by yourself is frustrating, usually a co-pilot would handle all the necessary items on the dashboard as the pilot does the flying. FSX is good simulator for anyone seeking fun.

  • W00t for flight simulator!

  • I watched this haha so funny. Where did you get this clip?
