"Tarp Surfing" isn't a sport. It's just something that simulates "getting pitted" and can look good on video. It was used on a few TV shows and commercials. Why the hatred for something that is creative? What about your friends that will never be able to know what it looks like to be in a barrel? It's the closest they'll ever get.

Really, what is the point? Just skate mini/vert/halfpipe while you're not near the sea, and when you are near the sea then get an actual surfboard...

@DJUsive1 Here is some info for you to get your tiny mind around:

This is filmed in Hawaii where there is world class surf almost everyday.

This is filmed 1/2 a mile from those surf spots.

This is filmed on a huge tarmac parking lot with a perfect grade for carving it up.

At the other end of this parking lot is a nice skatepark.

So needless to say after we surf our brains out, skate the park for hours, and carve up the tarmac there is still enough time in the sunny warm Hawaiian day to waste.

I'm from the UK, where its rainy, and the sea is mainly either grey or kinda brown, and its rainy, and the skateparks are built (outdoors) with about as much imagination as a brain dead squirrel on Tony Hawk's Park Editor (and no roof), and its rainy, and even if you decide to brave the weather and misery to try and go surf, you're greeted by waves about as high as a no-legged cow. Did I mention it rains here?
