i treid doing it but wen i mix the flour into the sugar syrup it becomes all crystalised....it forms lumpy lumpy....

  • Everything in the video was so clear until the end - where vahchef says.. remove it from the stove when there is a change of color - did anyone notice a clear change of color (the point at which you switch off the stove and pour the mix into the tray?) I wasnt entirely sure when that change of color clearly occured.. I tried this now and waiting for 10 mins to cool down... but am afraid If i took it out too soon! Fingers crossed

  • Hi Sanjay!..i tried making it with the proportions listed on VahreVah. i seems like there is too much of ghee floating on top of the pan, while trying to set....any suggestions as to why?

  • @TheHema18 as if vah chef will ever read your message

  • @tintinma what nonsense! try Mysore Pak from Guru Sweets in Mysore. Its called Mysore Pak from a reason..

  • No this not the kind of mysore pak who every1 craves for. This type of mysore pak is mostly sold in villages. go to big shops in bangalore or mysore. It has to be very soft.

Iam sorry to say u havent done enough research.

  • OK. This is completely awesome.

Whose going to try this recipe? I have the heat sources and the pots. I don't have ghee (yet), but I do have butter.

If I melt down the butter I can make ghee, no?

  • @rkubarych Yes you can make ghee with butter.Just heat the butter slowly...when you see the browny material settled on the bottom of the pan, just strain it.Your clarified butter=ghee is ready .Good luck!

  • Sooooo funnnnnnnnnnnny...4:15..this is very hot!!!! Loooooooool

  • wow thats my favourite sweet, mooh me paani aa gaya!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks,

    Kalyani

  • Hello chef!

I love to watch your videos but I did not quiet get the last part. You poured the mixture of mysore pak in the tray. And directly after that you showed few pieces of Mysore pak..looks great. But I don't think your tray was that deep filled that you can make those pieces that long that was showed at last. I would rather love to see you cut pieces and place on the tray since it don't make sense to see magic!

  • Hi,,,,,,,,,,,,i have tried many of ur recipies...n i find m doin well with u...but in some of ur recipies u dnt show....how much the quantities of ingredients v hav to use...pls..evn in mysore pak u hav not mentioned about it..

  • u r awesome...ma fav :)

  • u r amazing

  • vahchef - initially, you added hot oil to the besan powder?

  • your mysore pak preparation video excellent.we tried it at home.wow..... it really comes real mysore pak,

my family members really loves it.Thanks for giving good video.

  • i was thinking to make it from long time, tried today but dint come out well as said by you chef,it came out as barfi.tasted good but without pores, have to try again. it would be real helpfull if you can give correct measurments,i took these quantities:

    1 cup besan

    1 cup sugar

    1 cup (oil+ ghee)

    1/2 cup water.

  • he said (at 2:04 in recipe video) that 2 cup sugar needs just 1/2 cup water. which means that you needed only 1/4 cup water for your 1 cup sugar.

  • hai chef,

thanks for all the cooking techinics.its worked allthe time ..but you dont give the measurements...please post it or mention it please . thank you

  • Hi We tried making like this and turned out be a paste like halwa with no bubbles like yours. It was tasting raw besan.

  • Delightful video chefji!

Also it is very inspiring not only for cooking but for love of Indians and all things Indian.

    Bless you sir.

  • Excellent video, When I was a kid, I make mysore pak helping my mom, but as you said, we need chisel and hammer to break the mysore pak, that much tough. After wasting hundreds of kilos of sugar and besan, atlast we learnt. The same way how you explained. You are brilliant.

  • My husband and I tried your technique of making Mysore Pak. It came out good and we are enjoying. However, there were no quantities mentioned in your recipe. We got the quantities from another site. But, we couldn't have made our Mysore Pak without your directions.

Also, we have tried your dal Makhani. It came out very good.

    Thanks.

    Quantities :

    2 cups besan

    3 and 1/2 cups sugar

    3/4 cup of water

Ghee and oil as required per your directions

  • mysorepak ---very nicely explained/...bc

  • what flour it is??? i heard ground flour.... thats not right

  • Its gram flour (flour made from chana dal / chicpeas)

  • It is gram flour (besan) mad out of chick pea

  • Great my friend.

My all time favorite. watching makes my mouth watery

  • I love your recibpies but the only problems is i cant memorize all the ingredientes. Bettter if you put on write and we can maked. Thanks very good

  • i love your cooking but can't made it because none measuring amount, plus most of us are not the expert so we have to learn from you, so please put the measuring on for us, well if you can change from the old recipes that post on for a long long time ago too, please, please, pity please, thank you so very much, i'm from us..

  • hi i made this and come out horribale can anyone give me right amt of all the items thanks

  • I followed your instruction properly,so I have done a right pak. Thank you very much. Please say the quantity before you start to do that.

  • I'm from Brazil, and I really loved this video. I'll try someday! :)

  • i like when u said "do not get panicked"..i spoiled my pak by panicking soooo many times!!

    suddenly the process becomes scary!!

  • This mysore park became hard like a stone..

  • hehehe... ROFL...

  • thnks for this recipe Vahchef.. can you also post recipe for the Soft Mysore Pak burfi

(the one that u get in Chennai sweet shops, which has lotsa ghee)

  • yes m also dyieng to know abt tht soft mysore pak recipe, its my favourite

  • well it is a lot of oil...but nobody eats mysore pav every day....mysore pav is a really good dish...nice work chef ...love it!

  • wow what a lot of oil. My heart was hurting while watching him eat it.

  • Hello Vah Chef... The authentic Mysore Pak requires a teaspoon of Turmeric and Cardomom Powder . This would help in bringing out a bright color and flavor

  • turmeric in mysore pak, wont it taste weird?

  • I have been to Mysore and seen the process of making pak . Turmeric and cardmom is added before adding besan, well it depends on how much you really add!

  • who said turmeric? The Chef never mentions turmeric in the recipe even once!

  • Hey Imm a Dude Frm Mysore....

  • i tried my hand at making this for first time. But i was not aware of the proportion of besan.Still the outcome was superb.

now i have found exact proportion of besan on ur website. now i wii try it again...

u r like a genii from Magic lamp!!!!!!!

  • Thank you Vahchef, for sharing this method with us. Looks soooo yummy!!!

  • I guess you can visit his website where the quantities are actually specified.

  • Am I the only one who has noticed that chef has not shown the quantity of a single ingredient in the whole video!!! I think quantities are really important in any recipe. How are we supposed to make this dish? With some kind of guessing game or what?

  • that is how traditional indian chefs give out recipes :-)) all aunties, mommies, grannies give out such recipes... :-)) it is probably assumed that we should have some experience in indian cooking before watching these videos...

but complicated recipes like mysore pak definitely needs precision, cant attempt without quantities... :-(

  • but Vineeta Sastry Vahchef aint an auntie or mommy or granny..he is a professional chef who has gotten his degree from some good insitute!!

  • dhanshree86 above comments that we can find proportions on the website!

  • no ilovetocook111 you aint the only one who have noticed this. the vahchef despite being really really really good chef has this quality which i think is not that good that he never tells the precise amount/quantity of the ingredients. maybe he doesn't want others to learn as good as he does. and yes quantity of the ingredients are very important which vahchef is never precise about..and that's the sad part about his videos :(

  • wow that was a good techniques shown chef... saw it.. n now understood how those air bubbles form in a mysore pak... it looks difficult.. ,aybe ill try with small quantity then with larger... :) but will surely try...~ thanks.. n keep up the good work..

  • u explained very well,i'm going to try..hope it'll turn out the way u did..thx

  • hello chef iam great fan of your cooking. really thanks for this recipe i really like the way u explain very fine details. Definetely i will try thanks.

  • His website has the correct proportions. Briefly, you need 2 cups sugar, 1.5 cup besan (gram flour), 2 cups ghee, 1/2 cup water.

  • Best cook personified !!!

  • Chef, it will be great if you tell us roughly the amount of flour, sugar etc to use. You say that the sugar should not be too much or too less. So it will be good, if you tell us the approx qty. Thanks.
