However one good thing with Robotech is that they broke free of the standard Anime type characters and gave them more of a western style of behaviour (speech wise). The japanese have a way with formality that just don't fit westerners, yet they think everyone is like that.

@AdurianJ Yeah, When you watch the Macross version of the arcade fight between Max & Mirya, Max just talks about her tits while in Robotech he's thinking "boy is she beautiful". As much as these Otaku keep bleating about how terrible Robotech is... I think Macek did a wonderful job translating it for American audiences AND weaving 2 unrelated shows into the storyline. Also, the dialouge in Macross is so stiff and formal at times, Macek cut it down dramatically.

This was really an amazing show when I was younger, saw the Norwegian dub.

Its funny, I cannot seem to remember that the alien made growling noises like a monster and said "muawh" when he walked over the car. Increase the polarity when Americans are watching, so that they won't see the humans in the enemy and their relation to real life. I know there has always been a tendency for censorship in games and vids because reasons like that. That's also why I play FFIV and NOT "FFII" ;D
