I'm not sure what the disconnect is with you, but the reason darren hayes is not mainstream and therefore not as POPULARZ lol, is because he wants to remain independant. He could have gone the commercial route but he chose not to. Considering you seem to have the music taste and personality of a doormat, I don't know if you can really wrap your mind around the fact that it isn't how popular you are -- it is really about how talented you are.

Umm I never said Britney was more or less talented, i just said she is still making millions and is more successful than him. Even during his time in Savage Garden they never amounted to Spears's level in the music industry. He was dropped from his label because his second album was a flop, and that's why he remains "independent". Do your research kiddo before you open your mouth. Thank you ^^!

If by "more successful" you mean britney is more mainsteam, has more fans, and possibly more money, then yes, I would suppose she's "more successful" in that regard. Anyone who is made into a media name would have the same success. But britney pays a dear price for such a high level of fame.
