But really, Sonic runs faster than Shadow, can use chaos control and sonic wind and he doesn't need special rings to "recharge" besides. not really - I'm not sure if they say it in the show, but in the game Shadow does basically everything at first because he's doing what he was created for - but in the end and several times throughout the game he gets flashbacks to Maria. He does everything he does because of his promise to her. He actually doesn't do much just for himself.
