i taught myself aswell and saw a similar problem i had in your vid. but when you spit the kerosene at the torch spit a bit higher. some of the kero is wasted by just falling below the fire. the flame works its way up. but it wont drop down to accomidate for where the kero is being spat. if all the kero burns, then the flames get bigger

Hey, good work, but One thing I'd suggest is keeping your head tilted backwards. Be careful, naturally because you don't want to swallow your fuel, however it works like this. Fire and heat travels upwards, so if you keep your head tilted back, the flame can only up and away from you save for a bit of backburn...but if you dip your head down, that fire is gonna come right back at your face. Trust me, I found out the hard way.

Try using Ultra Pure Lamp Oil.

it generally only ignites if vapor form. which can help reduce blowback and getting burned. plus it has no taste.

you should keep your torch (and projection) at a 45 degree angle. so if you like your torch 18' in front of you , Then hold it 18' higher than your mouth as well.. this is safest and makes the longest flames possible. when you try to go straight out half of the energy is lost as it is trying to rise and causes a "banana" bend in the flame. I breath fire on stage after our bands performances, I wil get some footage and post some soon..

yeah i used keerosene, it is decently safe, if you accidently swallow a mouth full all itdoes is gives you belches, but still i wouldn't recomend doing tht to often

it will only poison you if you drink a bunch

ok well first i would not put kerosene in my mouth but thats just me second fire dose clime down yo know so do not shoot strait up.

first: fire rises because heat rises

second: putting kerosene in your mouth is a bad idea, but what is worth watching isn't a bad idea?

third: the flame will always try to retrace the kerosene back to your mouth, just blow it out hard enough and it won't get there
