  • Chante Moore's version was good, but Trina's version of this classic Minnie Riperton song is just plain & simply better!!!

  • J Dilla sampled this version for 'Look Of Love Remix' on Fan-Tas-Tic vol 1

  • Not bad..just a different spin on this classic.

  • @Gene3875....I feel ya' on that....some things are better left alone, especially when Minnie perfected the song, No one has her range and she can't be touched except by Rachelle Ferrell

  • Some people shouldn't attempt to cover other peoples material... this rendition was a perfect example of something that should have been left alone...

  • Will you come inside me??? :)

  • I am sorry Trina is the best. I know only a few people agree, but just because this song is a classic doesn"t mean no one can do better.

  • @itmustbelove08 I don't know about that. I respect your opinion but I think my Minnie can't be touch by anyone she had a perfect pitch

  • ffff

  • sorry to the person that said this version was better than Chante's is wrong, even though this lady can blow!

  • Trina did a great job and that ain't easy to do after Minnie blessed us with such a masterpiece.

  • I LOVE THIS GIRL!~!1

  • KILLLED IT!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!

  • jay dill took a sample from this version, for slum to do a flipside remix on The look of love

  • i actually really like this version

  • DILLA!!!

  • @WahkibaJ yep 2:57 to 3:15 look of love remix

  • Sopranos (University) !!!

  • trina is who put me on this song in the first place...i'd never heard chante's version (angelic) or minnie's (etheral to say the least)...this song is just sick all the way around. what pisses me off is we have talent out here like this and we're wasting out time on autotuned foolishness. how disappointing.

  • @tenapage i agree 100%...her voice is flawless, and I would love for these artists to get more props...they work harder and get no love nor radio play ...sad day for music : (

  • what happened to her? she was a great artist.

  • Love this version so much!! Trina did it her way, and does not try to copy Minnie in any way. I like the way the musicians approached this version as well. IT has a soul and hip hop feel to it too. Where are you Trina??? You should be up there recording!! You have a beautiful voice sister!!

  • Although she doesn't hit the notes I still LOVE her version as well, it's something about her voice that I like more than Chantes.. Okay mayebe I should say for this song, lol Don't kill me lol...

  • iI like this version. its letting you know that you don't have to be a soprano or whistle Singer to sing this song.

  • If you disliked this song you're an idiot! Her voice is amazing! I love her and wish Jermaine Dupri would've done more with her.

  • excelente buen cover de minnie riperton!

  • i love how she made this her own...absolutely stunning w/ the jazzy effect

  • GREAT UPLOAD!

  • TRINA DID HER THANG!

  • the best rendition of this song,....her voice is so melodious...

  • a more pretentious version me thinks.

  • Nice cover but she didn't this those high notes but it's still nice.

  • Awesome cover version, hower I still prefer Minnie's original.

  • wonderful.

  • Beautiful tribute to a beautiful artist...Minnie Ripperton...

Obviously this song is loved and cherished by Minnie's fans and the remakes of "Inside My Love" by Chante and Trina are evident of Ms. Ripperton's legacy for vocalists in the music industry... They both did the song justice and Minnie would no doubt be proud of these strong singers keeping her song stylings alive for future generations. Fans can and should enjoy the original AND the sincere tributes....This version is great! 5 stars!

  • I agree with you! I love this song, and Minnie is smiling down on Trina and Chante. That is the type of woman Minnie was. Always complimenting others artists, and appreciating their work!

  • @MsFarzee Minnie sang this song? I will have to listen to her version. I LOVED her high soprano...it was beautiful to its core!

  • @MsFarzee

Your post says it all! What wonderful legacy Minnie left to us all. Minnie would be so flattered by all of this attention! She was so humble and so shy! I remember Minnie and she was just so special to me and my home girls back in the late 70's during junior high. My own children love her too,. I love Trina and Chante and wish they both would sing again. I miss them!!

  • the vocal is very good but I'm not impressed with the instrumental... and no-one is hitting that high note like minnie does check the cop out at 01:29 haha nice tune tho!

  • you can compare and she nailed it completely

  • My favorite version of this song. This entire soundtrack had the same smooth feel. Like Butter...

  • i love her version of this song and she does minnie justice. arrangement is sick!

  • The music is super tight!!! I love all version, Minnie is the Queen, but, this is my favorite music version

  • Listened to all three, I like this one the best, go firgure, music and vocal wise. Thought I would like Minnie's the most but I like this more.

  • THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU!!!!!

i thought i would have to watch that god awful movie in order to hear this version of one of my favorite songs but you must have heard my screams in agony at the thought of watching that movie.this version is just as beautiful even without the high notes.she wasn't being Minnie when she sung this song, she was being Trina....you go girl!!!!!!

  • Trina's version is a'ight. I like the background arrangement better than the lead vocals.

  • I understanding what you are saying but when a artist sings another artist song it going to be compared.I give the girl credit she sounds dam good. But it's just dont have the quality as Minnies version.I have even heard remakes of songs and choose the remake over the original.

Trina nor Chante just didnt knock it out the ballpark.

  • Trina's version is cool. She put her own different twist to it.

  • Reminds me of Jennifer..from American Idol.

  • Good attempt at covering this song..love it either way. Where is she now? From 3:00- 3:20 I love the way the live instruments come in. I've always remembered that part from her version LOVE IT!! Play it drums!!! lol!

  • She covered it and made it her own! I wish she would come back on the scene, she has a beautiful voice. I thought the arrangements were slamming too! The drums and the other musical instruments were incredible!

  • Stop getting hung up on comparing and simply hear what this young lady is offering you in the way of her talent. Minnie was Minnie, Trina is Trina. I think Minnie would be honored and flattered to have a young lady remake her song...maybe that's why she couldn't find an audience. Too many bitter old heads stuck on stupid.

  • Chante can't hit the notes and sustain them the way Minnie could. That's not even up for debate.

Chante may have more talent than Ross, I'll give you that. However, Diana has longevity behind her. She could put out something like this and it would sell. Chante did and you see the results.

    Sorry to disappoint you.

  • Of course you cannot compare Trina;s version or Chante's version to the great Minnie Riperton. She is the original and no one can compare to her. However, I do like the way Trina added a hip hop flair to the song, and each singer brings a romatic edge to it. Trina's version is wonderful as well. She doesn't ry to hit the notes, she just sings the song, and it sounds so incredible. She did an amazing job with this song and I am sure she was intimidated.

  • Wow is all I have to say, she did an amazing job with this song.

  • I agree..nothin like the original, but she did her thang!

  • Yeah, she did a good job but ain't nothing like the original...RIP Minnie..we love you and you are missed.

  • Minnie is the best....to be there when the song first came out.....it wasn't a popular hit....but to those who heard it's depth. I appreciate others attempt....but Minnie own this always....

  • This joint is second best to, 'Minnie 's version' but their both tunes you can groove to.

  • Not many people can cover a classic and renew it with quality. This approach was tasteful and done well. She stayed in her range and left the octives to Ms. Ripperton. Very soulful, don't know why her career didn't go further. This song was the highlight of the soundtrack ... not including Sentimental Mood cause Ellington is classic for real !

  • Broussard was signed for a time to Jermaine Dupri's So So Def Label, writing for and working with such artists as Aretha Franklin, but her own project was stalled, and Trina then moved to Motown/Universal. Her second album, Same Girl (featuring contributions from Van Hunt and Rahsaan Patterson, among others), was released in 2004, but despite good reviews, it failed to find an audience.

  • I need the money note on this song. Minnie set the standard. Chante of course does a absolute fab job on the song. Trina does a good job, but it's too many vocals (back ground all that stuff) the belting adlibs don't compensate for the money whistle notes.

  • i've listen to all three versions minnie , chante and trina. With the horns and the vocals at the end gives the song at different flavor. I perfer this over minnie or chante

  • I'm a DIE-HARD fan of both Minnie and Chante, but I have to say that I actually agree with you!!!!

  • I love this song, It goes out to that someone that has a close place in my heart (MH).

  • As much as I love Minnie's version, this is my favorite. The drums are just too sick for me to resist!

I do like how Dilla sampled this as well as the original haha! He apparently dug it too!

  • yea, i agree, the production on this is the best of the bunch

  • Cool version but Minnie's version is the best those strings and minnie's vocals take that cut to the next level. I miss the 70's music love the orchestra RnB needs more stings and horns.

  • @oleold Indeed.

  • Very nice tune!

  • It sounds muffled.

  • hopefully this song impacted trina so she could remake it but she ruined it a little in my OPINION.dont bash me its an OPINION..minnie will never ever be replaced. if its gonna be a remake make it like its supposed to..dont ruin a classic..this remake is just not right..

  • The way I see it, Trina puts a new spin on this song. Personally, I loves her rendition cuz it doesn't have that shrill, high pitch singing in it. IMHO, that's a bit strident and grates on my ears a bit. For that reason, I like this song better, although I do like Minnie Ripperton's version:)

  • much more soulful than chante', i like it. the live band is absolutly needed for this song, good job. minnie's is the best of course. i thought those voice fill in's over the break down was nice too.

  • What's your favorite version of this song? Trina, Minnie or Chante???

  • ..Yeah,points taken,but damn good re make?..nuff said..

  • I love everything about this jazzy version!! Great new life to an old classic.

  • Yo, I love this song man.

  • 2:21-2:30 is my favorite part of this song.

  • the band is tight

  • I prefer the original.

  • she didn't hit that high note....:-(

I was looking forward to it...but I like this one...not better than the 1st but it's like a nice 4th or 5th compared to the original....

  • The point is definately still getting across, to come inside mentally, and definately physically, and still makes any man with common sense yet morality, still want to come(cum)inside her love, yet "Trina" even in remaking this sing is very much so more verbally expressive, in showing fullfillment at the climax of this song, which intesifies the whole thing ! Edward.B(musician) Lansing,IL

  • OK, i just listened to Chante Moores version of this same song and I have to say, this version excels simply because the artist didn't try to remake it she gave it a new life by making it her own but also by taking the lyrics, arrangement, and music seriously. Of course Minnies is the clear 1st choice, but this isn't a bad 2nd at all. I'd love to hear the next remake of this live. Trinna has a bigger voice.Minnie had a very soft and sensual, and full voice. I love them both

  • lol but it's not this serious honey.. lol

  • they were both different artists.. and I like both of the versions.. I actually didn't know of Minnie's own until I knew of this woman's own.. u should be happy this woman decided to sing it over for the love john's soundtrack... if I didn't watch it I wouldn't have known this song existed..and she also credit Minnie so calm down.

  • There's no need to bash Trina. I happen to know Trina and that Minnie is one of her favorite singers, so why wouldn't she credit Minnie? Furthermore, she's a GREAT singer and more than worthy of performing this song, otherwise they wouldn't have used it on the soundtrack don't u think?

  • I can give less than a damn if you claim to know this girl. Name a song Broussard is known for other than this remake? *crickets chirping*

That's what I thought. As I said, many people attempt remakes in order to get exposure and a paycheck because they lack creativity. It takes very little skill to redo something that already exists. What's so great about that? It would be different if she had success with her own stuff, first. She isn't that good. If so, where is she now?

  • Why do you think that it doesn't take skill to remake a song? You think it would be easy to remake a song by Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross, Anita Baker, Sade, etc.? All of those artist remade earlier songs in their career. Look at all the people that enter talent shows who sing a well known song. Just because a song was done by another artist doesn't mean that it doesn't take skill to pull it off. Plus to say "where is she" now, is implying that recording artist usually stay around a while.

  • Hell, I could remake any song I choose and I'm not even a singer. The singers you named have or had careers and earned the right to remake songs--that's why you can name them. This girl tried to make her career off of this classic, but failed. She's not known for anything of her own. That's my point. She had no true talent beyond average.

Where IS she now? Most true singers have careers singing--hence, the title singer. She put out one album and it bombed. Think before you type.

  • Most people know "All I do is think of you" from the group After 7 but nobody cares it was remade from the Jackson 5, and it doesn't make them more/less talented. Did After 7"earn that right"? It was done well, but where are they now? IT DOESNT MATTER. Who are u to say what true talent is or to scale what average is anyway? If she's w/o talent why did you listen to an entire album of hers? Why'd you buy it? American Idol singers are talented and make a career off of singing other peoples songs.

  • After 7 was a good group with several hits and proved themselves. Not a good comparison. This girl is a wannabe, plain and simple. She might have cashed in off of the great Minnie Riperton, but that's it. She couldn't back it up.

Where did I say I bought her garbage or listened to it? I looked her up and she was a flop. She did do little song writing, but she's no star.

Bottom line, the girl isn't that good--even though the song is a classic.

  • oharmon i have 2 correct u that was troop not after 7 that did all i do is think of you.

  • She's a background singer for MANY successful singers. If you're counting someone's skills by whether the album bombed, then I guess Stephanie Mills, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle, and Sade can't sing either huh?

  • Oh, STFU. You clearly are just some stupid rabble-rousing jackass. For you to even mention this wannabe with accomplished singers with proven talent is a joke and not even remotely funny.

    Go back to your drugs.

  • She did a great job on this song

Minnie was a superstar of the upmost

there are millions of people who are good that don't go far

or last (Ball players,Models,Dancers, Track stars CEO etc, If Kobe Bryant had a crack under the pressure he got with the rape case where would he be

With Hip HOP being push down our throats and then out of our ASS

A whole lot talent singers don't make it

    don't even get a tryout

But back to Tina on this Song she rock it well

I want ride inside her love

  • She damn shol rock this one regardless of the other versions no disrespet to Minnie but Chante version is to soft. But this version is soooouuuuuufffffuuuul...

  • I had to respond to Dynamo001 in regard to the response to this song.

  • don't waste your time responding to an idiot. just enjoy the wonderful version by Trina B.

  • couldnt agree more...some people dont have that taste for a different flavor in wihch she adds to this song

  • Lovely cover of Minnie Riperton's classic. This is the JUST the kind of song which a couple in love would call 'their song'.

  • Lil momma can sing. Is she a professional? I never heard of her but I can believe she is a professional. She got it! Sounds good, lil momma. You got soul.

  • she did it best!

  • this song is nice especially you with that special one..........

  • I love this song, it's one of my favorite songs from the Love Jones soundtrack!!

  • Love this version just as much as Minnie Riperton's version!

  • she killed it... give that girl her props. plus, she dropped that nice drum beat on top of it to make it new.... i cut for this one as well, but not as much as the original! minnie will always be the best.... and noone can match her high notes!!! classic!!!

  • ^5 (high 5)

  • I love the part" come ride, inside, this love, with me...". I'm surprised no one looped that melody.

  • Minnie ripped it, but give Trina her props.

  • I like with Trina.

  • Sing Trina! Beautiful voice. Great performance. Nice backgrounds. Your voice is magic. Didn't over sing. Just made it your own. Very nice. I look forward to October!! Your time is coming!! Brent

  • NO NO MINNIE GOT THIS!

  • but she did her thing though. u cant deny that. but of course Ms. Ripperton alwayz did the damn thing especially w/ the high notes

  • Yes, I agree. Love this song!

  • I seriously feeling this shit!go Gta 4!

  • 2:04 is my favorite part. The horns of the part is too priceless.

  • Good cover. However never near the original from Mrs Riperton!!!

  • i agree great cover but no one can do it like the incomparable minnie riperton.this song gives me CHILLS!best song to get your freak on to

  • Wow, this is a pretty good cover. You gotta be real brave to cover one of Minnie's songs, especially this one. But she handled it so tastefully and added her own personal touch to it. I really dug the adlibs she sung in place of that long high note at the bridge, that was really sweet.

  • I think that Chante Moore's version was better, I dont understand why you would remake a song and not hit the key notes!

  • Nice version, but I have to agree with you it does sound lacking without the whistle note, so Chnate got a bigger vote. BTW Chante will be taking on another Minnie song on her new album to release June 17, this time it'll be ''Give Me Time''. I certain the whistle part will be there too!!!

  • That's not her thing. She made it her own. Why imitate someone else? The note where Minnie's ad lib. They were beautiful, but they were her ad libs. Trina does a great job on this. She is the best Trina Broussard out there!

  • Because its a REMAKE not a COPY. Think about it

  • This song was the bomb back in the day. She has this song down pack. She sound even better than Minnie on this song. Love it. Come and ride inside of my love. Love you Baby!!!!!

  • she kills it but not better than the originator.

  • just as good,maby better

  • Truly a nice rendition.... A split hair away from being as good as the original...

But then again not many can touch Minnie..

  • Song was soooo Erotic that it was taken off the airwaves not long after it was played, just like Donna Summers Love To Love You Baby. They were not ready for that is the 70's at ALL!!!!

I am loving this version because they got a Bass Player that got mad funky with it.

  • These lyrics, are so deep, even with all control, you can't help but come inside of love when with the right person, hopefully at the same time, all night long E.B Lansing IL

  • Man, waking up to this song at 5 in the morning on the radio is the FREAKIEST thing ever!! I thought a UFO was landing on my roof!

  • HA!!!!!

  • she's good but I llloovvee the original Minnie Ripperton's is good for making love to

  • great love making song.

  • I love this song, too...But only half as much as I do the person who posted it.*wink*

  • *SWOON* Thanks Sweetie, back at ya!

  • this sounds almost as good as the original.

  • Love this song and she has a lovely voice. May not have the voice of Minnie Ripperton, but she does do a excellent job covering this song. Kudos to her:)

  • I LOVE THIS SONG !!!!!!

  • love this song!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I first heard this song on Love Jones Soundtrack and I was hooked. I know it's a remake and as much as I love Minnie Rippleton, Trina has definitely made this song come alive. You're voice is beautiful. :-)
